Finally someone laying the lumber on Dubas and his lack of success. The guy took too long to make changes and was too stubborn in his approach and now he can watch the drama from home.
11:40 watch a person almost choke by putting 'doesnt live up to his contract' and 'set any more records' in the same sentence
He will be on TV next year and pick his job in a year.

Dubas is not a great GM. You can take anyone and put in that position and not do any worse. He started off with a group of players that never progressed

A sad day, one of the smartest minds in the game. He will be missed. He did a very good job the last 5 years. Lets see how things go moving forward. I am a little worried who they hire next….mmm….we will see. Dubas and Keefe are die hard leafs……All the best Kyle, hope you are back some day.

Dubus should never see the inside of an NHL arena ever again! All those wasted years as we watch a guy NEVER lean on the job! Talk about a YOUNG, STUBBORN no talent GM! Look at the state of this team! almost zero of his draft picks are on this team in ALL the years he was here. He built NOTHING. Now having said that we really don't know what kind of latitude he had, so the next guy needs to be well seasoned and have ALL the power. And PLEASE don't hire Hayley Wickenheiser as GM! Hire someone with YEARS and YEARS of NHL experience as GM.

Keefe needs his walking papers as well. It' snever nice to fire somebody but results were far and few. There are a lot of veteran coach / gms in the open market right now.

I just realized shanny dealt with Dumas rhe same way he dealt with arena announcer, Andy frost. This isn’t a firing we just aren’t extending your contract. “Cool with me”.
Seravalli is a sanctimonious jerk with a classic 20/20 view of things…..after the fact. I don't recall him crapping on the Tavares signing at the time, one iota. Signing a top drawer centre at age 27 was considered a smart move at the time, giving the Leafs Matthews, Tavares & Kadri as their top 3 centres, widely viewed to be a strength. The fact that Kadri would lose his mind TWICE against Boston & commit fouls that resulted in major penalties, getting thrown out of those games, then suspended for the balance of those series was unknowable. There's the primary reason for just those 2 seven game 1st round losses coupled with dog-crap goaltending by Andersen in both games 7s. He also forgets Lou's acquisition of Marleau, a non-physical winger signed at age 38 to a THREE year deal a 6.25M aav. He produced only 47 pts in yr 1, then 37 pts in yr 2 & was a non-factor in both Boston series.
Why doesn't Seravalli crap on MLSE for signing Badcock to that idiot long term contract BEFORE hiring a GM. Just a dumb-shit move. The ownership of this club are just as stupid as many of their fans are when it comes to what's needed to build a Cup winner. I wonder what re-tread they'll hire for GM now? Mark Hunter? Just go back & look at Hunter's draft picks in rounds 2-7 for his 3 years of drafting. Underwhelming is a compliment compared to talent picked by other teams after the Leaf selections.

This goes back a LONG WAY-
–Dubas has absolutely zero appreciation of the critical importance of FIRST having an excellent goalie tandem, FIRST having a rock solid, gritty, tough and skilled and experienced defence corps that could take up to 50% of your cap space—both areas critical to WINNING IN THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS–NEXT OF SECONDARY IMPORTANCE you look at the proven character and ability of the forwards to CONTINUALLY handle CLOSE CHECKING and HARD HITTING situations in the playoffs— ie the other 50% of your cap space distributed astutely in the lineup… NOT $40 million just on Core 4!!!!… Good Example of Another Way-Old school New Jersey Devils under Jacques Lemaire, Martin Brodeur in net, stressing all round and Consistent Teamwork –ie Top Defence Pairs and Nameless Gritty Forwards-stopping offensive stars on opposing teams and chipping away at goals as opportunities arose—and they WON CUPS—-not entertaining watching 1-0 and 2-1 games—but THEY WON WAY MORE THAN THEY LOST….. Worth it… You tell meIf Mathew’s is traded Tavares and Nylander will shine. He Tavares can carry a team if he is made to. He has plenty left and is a clutch player. Get 4or 5 gritty 20-30 goal a year players and they will be a powerhouse.
