>The Montreal Canadiens first-rounder led all OHL defencemen with 25 goals in the regular season and finished second in d-men playoff scoring just behind North Bay’s Ty Nelson. Mailloux’s 24 points in one playoff run (21 games) ranks first in Knights history among rearguards, ahead of Olli Maatta’s 23 points in 19 games in 2012, John Carlson’s 22 points in 14 games in 2009 and Danny Svyret’s 20 points in 18 games in 2005.

A meeting with Gary Bettman
Bohmer
He will probably start in Laval unless Baron underwhelm again.

Idk, but I’m setting my expectations lucratively high like always

He is an absolute beast offensively. I was born in London and watch a ton of Knights.
He absolutely man handles other players in the OHL (hes adult sized), he moves the puck extremely well, he joins the rush, he has an NHL caliber shot, he skates very well for a big dude, he handles the puck well and makes good decisions when he has the puck.
Defensively he makes mistakes, sometimes looks lost in the defensive zone without the puck, and he sometimes is over aggressive in the offensive zone (its happened a few times where he pinched deep and led to odd man rushes for the opposing team).
Overall, i think hes a great pick for Montreal and if he can fix his defensive game he should be an NHL caliber defenseman. He has the size, shot, skating and offensive talent. He just needs more time in the oven, he missed a ton of hockey development.

He definitely should play at least one game in the pre season. Hopefully the league let him play

He wouldn’t develop much more as an overage Junior, and I don’t see him benefitting from a trial by fire as a 6-7 D regardless of his training camp, so Laval would be the logical choice.
Seems everywhere I look I see Mailloux and Hutson’s names lately.
Considering what we already have at D this is a very solid looking depth chart in a couple of years. Now add a few elite forwards in this year’s draft and things look very bright for the Habs.
