That would be nice, but that's not what they need. If they're not selecting BPA, which would be stupid, they need a top 4 or top 2 defenseman more than a centre. They can get a 3rd line centre elsewhere. If their scouting is any good, they can trade one of their wingers for one, assuming the numbers line up. Even if you added a Sam Bennett type, I don't know that they're a playoff team either. Ownership and management seem hellbent on winning now despite the contrary evidence. They'll never get anywhere with that blue line. They have a choice: Try to fix it, or rebuild. They don't seem interested in doing either. They want to continue to bulk up the forward group while they're over the cap.
