Dubas said if he choose not to come back to Toronto he wouldn't pop up somewhere else. Well he didn't choose the Leafs fired him so take what you want Dubas.

Prediction: the team that wins the western conference wins the Cup. Why? The only playoff built team the Panthers played was Boston, and it went to seven and overtime. Canes and Leafs are great regular season teams, but aren’t built for the playoffs. The Panthers lack the depth and physicality necessary to beat Dallas/Vegas in the playoffs.

I wasn't a strong Dubas supporter but I was really happy with his deals at the trade deadline. Leafs ownership won't change bc there the most wealthiest team in the NHL. You can't blame the coaches nor the Gm or even alot of the players . There are obvious systemic issues. So many players ,coaches and managers have left and went on and had success elsewhere and we are still here with no cup and no playoff success for many years. Its all ownership. Its very very predictable with the leafs when sports outcomes are pretty random. You would think they would've went on a run by now. That said I think Shanahan should just be the GM intill they find the right guy. They shouldn't be forced into a decision.
Kyper's got it. Dubas's request for autonomy is he is mad a few of his deals were nixxed by management. The "big defenseman" deal was reportedly for Karlsson. That would have been another financial anchor the Leafs can't manage. They are already strapped because of Tavares. We don't need another one of those big dollar players and the ownership group knew it, hence why they nixxed the deal.
I saw it mentioned in the chat: Gary Roberts as coach for the Leafs. Wow. I'm not sure if Roberts has any experience or desire to coach, but I can guarantee you one thing; NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, takes a shift off. Roberts is an absolute beast. The Leafs could use a few Roberts type players on the ice too.
As good a guy as Burky is I'm glad he's not GM of Toronto! Trade Nylander and he scores 50 and helps win a team a Stanley Cup! And Burky's support of Keefe is stupid! There should be more focus on Keefe being out coached every series! Because the real question is… how would the Leafs have done if the lines were stable! And it has been CLEAR for over 2 years that Nylander and Tavares DOESN'T WORK!!! PERIOD! And idiot keep putting together on the same line!
