The window has been closing rapidly for all the Wild Bill shaders who piled on last year based on point production. No one who suggested he be traded, demoted, or scratched seemed to have watched him play. Your apologies are being eagerly awaited. I might even have to dig out receipts.

Admittedly, I thought he was destined to be a cap casualty. Huge props to the McManagers for believing in the core.
A solid AF two way center on a good contract. Yeah he isn’t putting up the massive points, at least in the regular season, but he has been a solid player. Never got the people pushing to trade him away
I did complain about his production in previous years, but I also said that he would improve with Cassidy’s system.
The fact that Woodcroft didn’t want to match him up with McDavid speaks volumes, he may not be the point scorer everyone hoped for after that first season but he’s an incredibly reliable two way forward on a solid contract. Glad he’s been having a good postseason.

Going into 2021-22, I thought we really needed a top 6 center and was bummed we didn’t land Philip Denault. Fast forward and we got a fully healthy Jack Eichel and William Karlsson who has become a better 2 way center than Philip Denault.
I was and always have been a Wild Bill apologist. He’s been my favorite Golden boi since year 1 and will be my favorite Golden Boi for a long time to come!

Last season was a dark time for us all.
I’ve always believed and loved him! The defense he brings is not tangible in the stat sheet but he brings it! People who are fair weather fans don’t know that but we accept you all still.
This was my last year that I was going to give him before I would let myself write him off. And I’m glad I didn’t!
Gary Bettman should get the Conn Smythe for allowing Vegas to circumvent the cap.
His contract is great value but I thought they would trade him as part of some deal to get some big name. Glad they didn’t.
I guess you haven’t been a hockey fan for long. Also, wait for it. As good as Vegas is (this season), Edmonton was better. They just started the season with bad goaltending (Jack Campbell). Then, still came within 2 points of taking the Division (Edmonton had the Tie breake 3 – 1) Best powerplay in the history of the game. They were the highest scoring team in the league this season. And they had 3 players with 100-plus points. All under the cap! Stuart Skinner was a rookie who played as well as he could, but he burnt out.

With Wild Bill, Roy, Stephenson, and even Blueger, Jack Eichel May be the worst defensive center man on the team.
