Offense stays stagnant as Phillies end the month of May with a 4-1 loss to the Mets | Phillies PGL

The Phillies finish May with a 10-16 record after a 4-1 loss to the Mets on Wednesday night. The offense left nine men on base, and went 0-for-7 with RISP. They’re now 5-16 against the Mets in their last 21 games against their New York rival. The PGL tries to figure out what’s happening with this team. #Phillies

  1. Coach Thomson needs to bring in Charlie Manuel for an inspirational ' It's hittin' season' pep talk.

  2. Management is to blame for getting rid of Jean, Eflin, Noah and bringing in Tuner. To many very overrated vets on the team. Going to finish under 500.

  3. I think Middleton will start to tell Dombrowski to start "cleaning" out this roster soon, Big contracts or not. They stink. They arent doing jack this Year, and Rob Thomson is lost.

  4. What comes around, goes around. Sooner or later, a change is gonna come. And the Canha's of World shouldn't be beating you.

  5. Pitching bites the team again.
Philly 1 to 0 mid 3rd inning. Philly trails New York 2 to 1 end of 3rd inning.

There's a huge problem. Starter gets an inflated ego and the opposing MLB team says "thank you… Don't mind if we take game lead from you."

Did Phillies give Nola a new contract? If Nola is the Ace, …. He is not showing it.

  6. I kinda like RAJr, but am I the only one who thinks he's a lit like Wheels used to be? Never wants to blame the players, always tryna find an excuse.

  7. Interestingly enough the OPS of these guys isn't terribly bad, mostly 800+ on average with a couple at 900+. Starting pitching needs to be better. We don't have a single starter with an ERA under 4. I definitely agree with the sentiment that some of those guys need to be benched, including Turner and Schwarber and give their spots to some guys on the 40-man. It's hard to imagine that they would play worse than those guys have been playing all season. I think the lineup could also use some tinkering. Move up Marsh and Klemens, Bohm, move down Turner, JT, AND Schwarber. Guys are getting hits, just not at the right time.
