Watch as David Backes goes high on Vincent Trocheck and gets ejected but not before fighting Mike Matheson.

  1. “The linesmen step in just as Backes was ready to go”

I think he meant to say as Backes was helpless and eating fists

  2. This is coming from a leafs fan here. It was a bad hit (not intentional) but a match penalty for that? I'm actually siding with Boston on this one

  3. Boston's commentators are the biggest homers in all of sports.. retire already, you're so bad.

  4. Go through centre ice while looking at your skates. This is what happens. Clean hit.

  5. "Trochek runs into Backes" what the bullshit is that call. smh. Boston has needed new commentators for a long time coming. get rid of them already

  6. I can NOT STAND BOSTONS ANNOUNCER. How is this NOT a penalty. It’s been a penalty for years.

  7. "Break up the fight just as Backes was ready to fight" ….with a jersey over his head. Are the commentators watching the same thing, or are they busy blowing each other?

  8. David Backes match penalty for: Checking from behind Today's NHL is cringe-worthy! What an utter joke, I thought he was getting a match penalty for goalie interference

  9. I will never understand how everyone in the industry is on their knees for Jack Edwards' knob when he is the second worst homer in the history of professional sports announcing (Hawk Harrelson being number one). Listening to him blatantly ignore evidence against the Bruins time in and time out is absolutely grating, especially when he's on every single Boston highlight (instead of the opposing team's announcers). It doesn't help that he gets extra opportunities to have everyone listen to his mindless idiocy because he calls games for the dirtiest team in the league, thus they have an abnormal share of the highlights posted.

  10. These commentators are absolute clowns, but they aren't wrong this time. Head checking – arguable. No call – arguable. Elbowing – maybe they didn't have a clear view. Hitting from behind – put down the crack, ref, you've had enough.

  11. I pray nightly that one morning jack edwards wakes up with no voice.
