As the Detroit Red Wings continue their NHL Draft preparations, the rest of the league is taking part in one big front office carousel – lots to cover!

Tune in as we start by celebrating some special Red Wings May 31st memories (4:00) before discussing Sebastian Cossa wrapping up his season with the Toledo Walleye, what expectations are for him with the Grand Rapids Griffins next season, & how Yzerman’s 1st round pick is faring overall (6:05). Also, the vacant Grand Rapids coaching position, whether Alex Tanguay may take it, or if an offer could come to him from Calgary (10:40).

Next, our 2023 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on David Reinbacher, a right-handed defenseman from Austria who may go as high as top 5. Would he be the right pick for Yzerman, Draper & Co., or is Hockeytown better suited taking a forward like Ryan Leonard, Oliver Moore, Dalibor Dvorsky, Zach Benson, or others (17:45)?

Next our preview of the Stanley Cup Finals, as Matthew Tkachuk & Sergei Bobrovsky’s Florida Panthers take on Jack Eichel & Mark Stone’s Vegas Golden Knights in a “no-tax state Finals” (40:14).

After that, a look at front office changes across the NHL, with Brendan Shanahan choosing Brad Treliving to take over for Kyle Dubas, Barry Trotz picking up Andrew Brunette, Carbery going to Washington, & more (53:45) before we take your questions during Overtime (1:00:10) – enjoy!

  1. I'm with Brad's logic
Forward at 9 dman at 17, but would prefer 2 forwards

  2. Reinbacher has top pairing potential. I’m not sure how you can say he’s only in the top ten cause it’s a weak draft for defensemen. Right-handed, top-four pairing, 6’2” defenseman? Easily a top ten guy. Miro Hiskeinan (sp?) is a Norris contender is your comparison. I do think it’s moot though cause he likely won’t make it to nine.

I would love to see this team build around a Norris top four though. Edvinsson, Seider, Wallinder, Reinbacher… that’s an exciting core.

  3. Seems like Jesper Wallsted has looked better in the early going than Cossa?

  4. What is the differences between GM, President, Owner, or Govenor in running a hockey team? Are some of these terms used interchangeably? Also, is Shanny more involved than most people in his position?

  5. Maybe this is pretty common and I just didn't pay enough attention the past few years, but the difference of opinion on draft placement for players not unanimously in the top 5 is wild.
