The Leafs stabbed Dubas in the back and I think they will really regret losing him. I’m a Pens fan so their loss is out gain!

Maybe Kane should return to the Hawks on a 1 year deal to help mentor Bedard, see how it works out. Can see Campbell being shopped around. If it takes strong sweetener(s) for a cap space team to take that contract, then so be it. Pretty classless and petty move by the Pens to leak out Dubas 30 minutes before Leaf's already scheduled press conference to announce Treliving as their new GM. Your attempt to calm down part of Leaf Nation is well founded. Think Nylander will be the "chosen one", and Leafs should be able to secure a good top 4 D-man in return.

Great report as usual Mike.
1. As much as I was often critical of Dubas (and for good reason) during his GM reign in TO I have to admit he handled himself very well in the intro news conference and endeared himself to the press and focused on the key points….bolster the lineup to maximize the talent that's still there for another Cup run(s) and focus on building up the young talent pool for future success. Dubas is a talented hockey man and I bet he thrives in Pittsburgh.
2. Treliving should do well in TO…..some times new blood is needed to spark a new vision and to turn the team in a new direction.
3. Roy must be getting bored coaching at the junior ranks. Time for a new challenge.
4. Kane should retire. I think his best days are behind him. It's a young and fast game today and he's neither. He should pack it in or play a bottom six role for a cheap contract on a 1 year at a time deal.
5. Oilers will NOT win Cup with current team. They are solid at top 6 F positions but need to add some better talent. Their D sucks!!!! Nurse is a detriment and hurts the team. They need to bolster the blue line. And finally….their goalie situation is abysmal…..Skinner and Campbell are NOT #1 goalies. Put it all together and what you have is a decent team that may make the playoffs but who will get bounced in 1st or 2nd round. McDabid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Kane, NH can't do it all themselves.
