The Dallas Stars have hit a new low. The team suffered their worst postseason loss in franchise history due primarily to self inflicted wounds. Stars captain Jamie Benn selfishly ejected himself from the game less than two minutes into the contest after a reckless cross-check to Mark Stone’s head. The Stars lacked heart, effort and it spread to everyone in the building as the fans at the American Airlines Center began to lose control and throw trash on the ice. A true embarrassment on several levels for the Stars organization.

Let it be known at the time of recording I was unaware Jamie Benn refused to speak with the media after the game. Had I known that I would've had more to say, but I'm sure many in the comments will share my thoughts and opinions.

Everyone talking about a s@#%p makes me worried VGK is getting jinxed. Either way, no matter how much I hate Benn right now (who I can only assume is praying he gets suspended and that his team loses so he doesn’t have to show his face again this season), it would be hypocritical based on what Pietro did to Draisaitl.
Again, take the C from Benn. What he did last night was needed in game 1 against kirill. Dude doesn't show up for the entire playoffs. Doesn't defend Pavs against the wild, won't hit against wild or krackheads. Then shows up and does that for no reason. Fans were throwing stuff bc of the back to back clear as day dives by vegas and the refs calling Dallas for penalties. I see no reason to be upset with throwing stuff on the ice bc of trash officiating. I do have a problem with fans throwing stuff on vegas players. That fan should be banned for life. Dane, if you're so embarrassed, quit. You act like Dallas fans throwing shit on the ice is the first time in history it's happened. It has happened 2x these playoffs already by other fans. Is it warranted? Yes and NO. Refs are trash. NHL won't clean up officiating. If more fans from all teams throw trash on trash calls, maybe Bettman does something. Refs had almost 0 to do with tonights loss though. Game 2 they cost Dallas the game.
Don’t stop at embarrassing when you describe this loss, you must also include well deserved. Jamie Benn is a chump, and it’ll be good to see them get swept!
Yesterday was weird for me. I was all excited because I got 3 mint Oettinger Rookie Cards in the mail about 10 mins before he was pulled from a championship game again.
I agree about Benn,but in my opinion the Stars season ended with the game 2 collapse. The Stars have been terrible in game 3s all playoffs…certainly a disappointing way to end an overall good season 🤬
Yeah after watching that game and seeing the fans react like that. I'm done. This team literally just stopped caring and I understand the fans being upset, but its no excuse to throw trash and beer on the ice and on the Knights players. This team needs to go into the offseason and get redone from the D to the passing to the OT. It needs an overhaul.
There's no condoning throwing trash on the ice, but I know what they were feeling. I was throwing every soft object I could get my hands on at the TV.
Trust me, that trash was directed at the Stars as much as anyone else. The sentiment, at least, was deserved.

I'm a vegas knights season ticket holder and seen them play just about everyone and I like to go on to the opposing teams streams or videos just to hear their catch on the game. I'm the kinda person that just loves hockey. I hate no team if even they just steam roll us. I can hate players! Makes is impossible for me to hate teams when most of my favorite players don't play for the knights anymore. But.. that being said that was embarrassing on the dallas side as far as fans that where at the game that threw trash and food on the ice! That $20 pretzel thrown hurt the worst lol.. It was a classless move not just for the dallas fan base and the NHL as a whole. Plus stay for the whole game. Be a true fan.
Been a Dallas sports fan my entire life and this game added to the ongoing shame of being a Dallas fan in any sport. This stars team has an extremely bright future but what a horrible way to end a great season.

In this case the Stars are on an incredible run and made it all the way to the WCF! Yes they embarrassed themselves in this game but just be further embarrassed by some of these dumbass fans?! The biggest advantage Vegas has over Dallas is COACHING. This is Pete DeBoer all day long. He's an AVERAGE coach at best. I said on the Athletic that for game 3, he would make silly lineup changes, just for making changes sake to say he's doing something, and that it would cause his team to be disconnected from each other and to flail around and end up playing worse. Well here we are.. Gave up 4 and now won't have Benn more than likely, and perhaps Dadanov with his knee issue. Remember, Dallas only lost game 1 and 2 by 1 goal in OT each. They were MUCH better then and he makes changes, and boom. Collapse. Just another DeBoer season down the drain. And on average, his first season is his BEST SEASON with each team he's coached.
Luv my Stars but this was very despicable to witness! Credit to VGK and best of luck the rest of the way! I rather lose with class than to go out the way they did and everything trickles down when your captain acts out cowardly and works down to the fanbase smh

Writing was on the wall against Seattle, let's be honest. If the stars barely edged out Seattle.. Vegas plays a similar game but with better players at the top end.
Look, are we going to win it this year? no. But at least make the effort worth cheering for. That’s what made us mad about the finals loss to Tampa. The effort wasn’t there. And that’s all we want as fans. It doesn’t frustrate us as much if you try and put forth the effort in.
