  1. It is good news for the Habs and shows how loyal Cole is to Montreal. My question for you guys is this what other team has prospects facing each other at the memorial cup?

  2. 7 year deal could be okay. I'd rather 8 but it could be a good think for Suzuki and Caufield to end at the same time. If we're in a cap crunch we can choose between the two and may trade the other at the deadline in 7 years. But I'd prefer 8 because I already want re-sign both these guys when their contract is up

  3. Okay everyone needs to chill tho… this is coming from Tony Marinaro his sources are exactly “reliable” 😂😂 this is his third time “reporting” something about Caufields contract and the last two times it’s been false and hasn’t come to fruition… 😂 so we need to take this with a grain of salt. Now I do believe Caufield will sign a 7-8 year deal.. but I still think it will be at 8-8.3 million AAV. Now if I’m wrong GREAT!!! If he signs just under Suzukis contract or a little bit above like 7.933 something like that then AWESOME! I would love to be wrong.. but Tony Marinaro doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to Caufields contract negotiations and I’m gonna still prepare for 8-8.3 million AAV. Kent Hughes is still a wizard i believe in him and I hope Tony Marinaro is right on this one but be prepared for it to be complete BULLSHIT..😂

  4. Is this for real???? The guy is 5’7” and has played 123 games. This is beyond laughable. If this is Montreals 2 best players no playoffs in the next 8 years. Guy is worth 3 million tops.

  5. I’d give 35millions / 5 years, so 7 millions per year. Not more. 8 years is a long long road!

No joke, I've been saying for a while that he can't have more than the #1 center AND the Captain. After 1.5 season on top of that, it's absurd. If you want to win, you have to have players who don't just think about their $$$. You don't win the Cup with $13M players.

  7. Hopefully the rumours are true. Although 7.5 long term is still a bit of a risk, its much better than the ridiculous rumours of people talking about 9+ per year long term.

  8. The habs need more size and grit in the top nine forwards….. Too many small forwards with the Habs will get slaughtered in playoffs hockey…

  9. To be honest for both side I feel like this would not be a bad deal knowing the high potential Caufield have but also that he still haven't played a full season. I want believe in Caufield project but he's so small and got few bad collision already in two years. Habs/Caufield have to work on that.

  10. I’m glad but if Suzuki and Caufield are our “2 best players moving forward” we’re in trouble. They’re very good but we need more talent

  11. I have a concern with the salary cap in the future with all the young players Montreal will have to sign going forward in the next few years to come.

  12. Nobody on either side is going to leak any numbers just no way so this is just pointless speculation. On the Owen Beck Ffront I gave my selections to who should make the team this year and Owen was on my list along with Harris and Arber and a few otehrs.I had Slavkovsky NO WHERE on my list I said he would be lucky to do much in the AHL.
WHat I feel happened is this new management just made their first draft pick and wanted …NEEDED him to show the fans management knows what they are doing so he made the cut even though he did not deserve it.
I do know hockey inside and out played it for clos to 40 years and I know what to look for in plaayers and how a TEAM plays in the various zones.Where am I going with this well there has been too many high fives and praise for a team NOT playing structurally well "coaches problem" and we still do not have a bonafide top line AND we are constantly praising 40-60 point players like they just accomplished a Stanley Cup run.
This team has GLARING holes up front and NEEDS much better coaching so we have a LONG way top go before any high fives.

  13. Habs will be the first Canadian team ro will a Cup in 33 years, been saying this forever 26 or 27 I'd when they win the Cup and dominate the League we deserve it.
