  1. Such a terrible game for toronto, they bobbled the puck and screwed around far too much

  2. not to be a leaf apologist but this really didn’t seem that bad. i know bunts has a reputation and all but i bet that if a bruin made that hit it wouldn’t have been called. idk just what i think.

  3. Bunting is such a little cowardly weasel . Fitting for him to play with this pathetic franchise

  4. This is a textbook example of putting yourself in a vulnerable position immediately prior to a hit, wheeling around and turning your back at the last second is not "protecting the puck". The rule says this shouldn't be a penalty, but the refs continue to call any hit along the boards that's more than a love tap "boarding", regardless of what the rulebook says. I'm pretty defensive of the refs on bad stick/obstruction calls, because there's usually an explanation as to why they didn't see something or saw it differently from the 90x slo-mo, but on these hits there's no excuse, it's so obvious. I'm 100% convinced there is a bounty out on physicality this season from the league, stuff is being called that never would have been considered a penalty before.

  5. In fairness debrincat turned after he was committing to the hit. Turned right as the hit was coming. It is a penalty but that's borderline. Happened to me more times than I can count playing youth hockey. Guys knew any hit to the numbers was an automatic 10 and 2. If I could react in time but not stop my momentum I'd pull my upper body back as much as possible to show I had no intention of hitting from behind and that my opponent turned at the last possible second. 60% of the time I'd still get called but the likelihood I'd serve a 10 minute penalty greatly reduced. NHL hockey is so goddamn fast.

  6. Dirty penalty. What would the Leaves response be if their boy Mattie was hit like this? Bunty would be yelling and screaming for revenge like Edwards in Boston.

  7. Bunting has that edge to his game. He's annoying but fans would love someone like that on their team.

  8. If refs keep calling "but he turned" boarding penalties, maybe it's time to reconsider making those hits?

  9. So just last week, bunts was apparently furious over a dirty hit given to his team, and now he goes out and lays this.
