  1. Everyone already knew, he’s just saying it out loud. Maybe they should hire Julien or Boudreau instead. But I don’t think they even want to go over there.

  2. A “hat trick a night?” Liane is a .77 points per game player, which makes him good but not elite. He has never eclipsed a point per game in the NHL.

  3. Selfish comment by Laine. When the puck is in your own end, you're not scoring in the other end. So what does he want to do when the puck is in his end? Cherry pick in the neutral zone which increases the chances of the puck staying in your own end. Dumb hockey player.

  4. Tortorella always overstays his welcome. With management, with fans, and especially the players.

  5. Can someone explain to me how this ISNT THE ENTIRE PLOT FROM D3?!

“I’m a goal scorer, I hate you coach”

Torts got a kid in a wheelchair ?

  6. Sounds like Laine crying cus he wants special treatment, and only do what he wants to do…Guess a guy like Laine only wanna play to his strength and not try to improve his game. Hope he realize it's a team sport and everyone gotta play the role…

  7. I can’t take him seriously when he almost let fortnight get in the way of his hockey career so he can just play hockey and try to you know be .the talent that everyone thinks he can be

  8. "Laine Whiny same old news nothing new"
Almost all the top elite Snipers in the NHL don't ever complain at all about coming back to help out the team like Caufield is already more professional and more mature then Whiny.
I'm just glad Benning was smart enough not to think or do a 1 for 1 with Boeser for Laine it's the signs of Laine as a person and in his game he doesn't want to improve to become better both ways it just tells u everything when ur top vet players on ur own team don't want u playing on their line and with his name bein brought up occasionally negative feedback about his game in the media every year it funny how comparing Laine to Boeser value back then then it is now Jets fans comparing Laine value to Mathews 🤣and I was saying I wouldn't do a Boeser for Laine 1 for 1 I was right ヽ(o⌣oヾ) I can't imagine what if that did ever happen Greener would most likely give Laine the exact same treatment as the other coaches like he did to Virtanen and Goldy and Hovat would prob tell him off nd yell at him if u aren't even trying to help the team try and win in all situlations in everyway possible it does hit Laine's value hard he's just doin it to himself with an attitude like that and the way he just says things it does not him help himself at all in his contract negotiations.

  9. Laine is the biggest millennial crybaby in the NHL. He’s another poison, to bad because he has skill

  10. Does anyone else think that every time Laine speaks (at least, everyone but the Goal King himself), his trade value and his free agency value tanks just a bit more? I hear Chicago is in trade mode… Laine for El Mago? If the Cubs are willing, I think the Blue Jackets as a team would be better off.

  11. Patrick Kane never played defense and look at the career he’s had. He had an off year because Colliton wanted him to play more defense. Big mistake. Laine s right, all goal scorers have to cheat a bit going the other way in order to score more. Kane had a great supporting cast, Laine doesn’t. Laine is the guy you build the team around. Let’s see if Columbus gets it now.

  12. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand are very responsible defensively and also score goals

  13. Laine is a big baby. A player says he doesn't like hockey anymore… Yeh John loves Laine.

  14. Laine is Absolutely right. It’s stupid not using his potential. Laine is a sniper/goalscorer. Let Laine be Laine.
It’s fantastic that Torts is gone

  15. I can see where he’s coming from but it’s a real selfish stance to say just give me the puck in front of the net and I’ll score. If you cant help defensively you are a liability. Look at Ovi, he’s a goal scorer and can play Defence just as good

  16. Laine isn't into Team he's into Me
He asked to leave Winnipeg and his play regress. He considers himself a scorer and that's it.
The game needs complete players now. Ovechkin Crosby for example amongst many top players learn to play defense with offence

  17. Laine is a spoiled brat , torts way of playing goes like this , earn the right to play and you will play , play bad, be ignorant, be selfish ? You sit the bench or drop down a few lines from 1st line to 4th … please trade Laine let's get someone who wants to play 2 way hockey , not , ME ME ME hockey

  18. Kid with a big mouth. When you have as much success as Torts we will take you seriously. Matthews realized he was only half a player until he learned defensive game and, in fact it added to his numbers. Laine better be careful or he will wear out his welcome in Columbus just like he did in Winnipeg

  19. Why do teams keep hiring this guy? Because he wins????? Bruce Boudreaux wins, and he gets along with players. I'd much rather see Columbus hire Gorton and Davidson! Then let them hire a coach, maybe Dan Quinn. Been wondering, why hasn't Patrick Roy gotten another opportunity to correct his mistakes and coach again?

  20. Tortorella has had a long run with a number of teams, Columbus was his last stop. It is time to let some younger coaches have a chance.

  21. First of all, there is a lot lost in translation. And yes, he is still taking the responsibility on that interview. What is translated to the Columbus Dispatch, not that much. But hey, they need to sell those papers.

Secondly, Laine did just what Tortorella required him. He was doing everything asked.

  22. Legorock got trolled big time. Bad translation and everybody peeing in their morning cerials. <- same level translation from Finnish.

  23. I haven't read the article, but I get the feeling that this Columbus translation is purposefully clickbaity. From the little I could see about it without actually subscribing is that he said "It would be stupid not to use my ability (to score) to teams benefit." And a bit later "In order to do that, forwards sometimes need to cheat a bit out of defense".

  24. You have a guy who can score goals in insane amounts, easily more than 99.9 % of the league. Then why do you have to make this guy play a grinder game? Can you not use the other 20 guys in the team who are not even close to as good scorers, to play defense?

P.s. Saying Roslovic was really good is cringe. He had to sit in the doghouse more than Laine this season.

  25. This is such sensationalism. The interview is way more neutral. There are things lost in translation as well as comments that were never translated to make it sound worse.

  26. Laine can score no doubt. I understand "cheat a little" but teams that don't at least try to play 2 way hockey usually don't win cups… I realize. Tortorella can be over bearing with his "delivery" but…Respectfully, there is no i in team imo
