  1. I feel like Vegas will win just because they have the ability to turn the other cheek and not retaliate. I feel like the pens won in 16’17 cause they were so disciplined when it came to retaliation penalties.

  2. Goaltending issue aside, Penguins massive issue was letting off the gas. Allowed so many comebacks from underwhelming opponents and it was all on them. THAT is why they missed the playoffs. If they don't address this issue it won't matter if they have the best goaltender in the league.

  3. Lots of talk about Hellebuyck, but another goalie that I might like even more is Juuse Saros. He played in 67 games in 2021-22, 64 games last season (as many as Hellebuyck), even saw a few more shots than Connor, and made 1928 saves on 2099 shots on goal. Saros is every bit the dependable workhorse goalie as Hellebuyck, and their general GAA and SV% numbers are very similar. Why do I like the prospect of Saros more? He's only 27, two years younger than Hellebuyck, also has two years left on a more affordable contract at $5 mil per, and probably won't cost as much to get if Nashville is open to a trade. I'm thinking Rust, and whatever combination of draft picks to get it done. Not only does that take care of the the goalie situation, but it frees up Rust's contract that can be used to help sign Zucker (amongst other things), and forces Sullivan to use DOC on the 2nd line.
