What offensive heights can Cole Caufield reach in Montreal?

The Canadiens have signed restricted free agent forward Cole Caufield to an eight-year, $62.8 million extension. With captain Nick Suzuki also locked in long-term, what does it mean for the future of Montreal? What heights can Caufield reach in the goal-scoring department? TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron shares his thoughts.

  2. Terrible deal right now for montreal!! If he turns into a point per game player over a 82 game season, then could be a good signing

  3. Caufield is the perfect example of a player that will score 40 goals a year but end up with a minus differential at the end of the year

  4. One of the most stupid contract i ever seen. How much stupid are the Habs fan to think this is a great contract ?!

  5. Cole Caufield will never finish the 8 year contract with Montreal. This kid is just a kid and the NHL will be physically punishing to him. He will only be able to keep dipsy doodling around heavy checks for so long and then he is going to get hammered a few times. I never wish harm or injury on anyone, but getting hit is simply part of the NHL. I wish him the best career wise and healthwise, but it's going to catch up to him eventually.

  6. Caufield will eclipse 100 pts at some point in his career. This is a great signing. Caufield secures life changing money and de-risks from any career ending injury. Habs management get a contract that sets the tone for other players to not eclipse Suzuki/Caufield’s AAV unless they are more elite than these 2 core players.
