He’s Canadian so there is no (or significantly less) political leverage in an arrest. He is also a white male, and since he is considering the deal I’ll also assume he is heterosexual, so the likelihood of harassment based arrest or overblown charges is diminished. Still risky, but if the money is right and he is OK toeing the line, he may have determined it was worth the risk

This dude’s career makes no sense to me. He was hyped up as a young player, I remember seeing him in USA hockey magazine. Then he goes to Hershey and posts a strong winning record. In the NHL he goes crazy with the longest shutout streak to start a career, plus a .924 save percentage.
Now everyone on reddit keeps saying he was “never NHL material”. How?
