I’m not a fan of either team, but I remember going into this series, people raving about Tkachuk and what a great, gritty playoff performer he was. Now he’s been rendered ineffective and he’s getting ejected from Stanley Cup games. Sure, you want to “send a message,” but do it on the scoreboard where it counts. Even Gordon Bombay and The Mighty Ducks in 1992 knew that. You’re not going to win if you’re playing that way. Vegas and most of their players have been here before and this version of Florida hasn’t. Bobrovsky suddenly playing mediocre hockey hasn’t helped. I cheered for Vegas until they mistreated Fleury, so I really don’t have a stake in this. I just want to see good hockey. The best finals I ever saw was in 1994. It didn’t go my team’s way, but it was still a fantastic series. This is more like 2011 than 1994.
