The Jon cooper presser was immediately after game 4 not game 6, also as a hockey fan in general usually any team in any round of the playoffs will do anything to try to spark something to change the course of the game, whether it be a fight, water bottle toss, or plain mouthing off. I’m certain that any team will be upset losing in the finals, the amount of sacrifice it takes to get to that point is considered extreme compared to any other sport. The Avs would do the same thing or something similar if the outcome was reversed. Hockey is hockey and tbh even though most people do not like to see repeat finalists, but I would really enjoy a rematch finals between these two because this was one of the best Stanley Cup Finals that have been played in quite a while.

I'm not saying I condone their actions BUT I get it. This comment section is exactly why they acted the way they did: absolutely 0 respect for what they've accomplished. "COVID Cups, $18M over the cap, cheaters, etc." I don't like them but that team is one of the greatest teams of all-time and yet no one acknowledges them. These past 3 years they've played 68 postseason games. 21-2 following a loss in the playoffs. Only faced elimination 3 times (out of 68 games) in 3 years. Just insane numbers in the cap-era. They made it to a Stanley Cup Final without their top center. And the sad thing is…they'll probably still be in the ECF next year and might win more Cups considering their best players haven't even turned 30 yet.

I think it backfired on them. They wasted so much time and energy trying to pressure the officials to call things in their favor, while Colorado just put their nose to the grindstone and went to work shift after shift. It kind of reminded me of the first fight in Rocky 3.
A team that managed just four shots in 20 minutes when down by a goal isn’t a team that should still be playing. Colorado was the superior team, and it showed.
