The game is a way to escape? From what? It's his job, not his escape. And if the San Jose Sharks are paying him 2.75 million dollars, he should wear the uniform they gave him, which I'm sure he agreed to in his contract. If he's "an extremely religious man," he should go be a pastor, not a professional athlete. As for "leaving the politics," refusing to wear the jersey is a political statement, much more so than just wearing the damn Jersey that he was told to wear by his team.

Right. As long as it doesn’t affect you then who cares? The Blackhawks kept “politics” out of hockey for 10 years. Wearing the rainbow jersey is just a sign of respect. Doesn’t mean you’re gay or even support. Just that you respect people which I believe is in most religions. People can obviously do as they want and shouldn’t be forced to but as a coach you shouldn’t have people that can’t show respect.
What medal do we give the leafs to cry their way to playoffs to only not win half their playoff games. We,re losing our game. Well, actually bettman said don,t call anything and its been very fun to watch.. but how long will that last even if everyone is watching
