Is Keefe the right coach for the Leafs moving forward? | The Talking Point

With the Maple Leafs bringing in Brad Treliving as the new general manager to replace Kyle Dubas, the focus now turns to head coach Sheldon Keefe. While Keefe has led Toronto to some successful regular seasons, the team has only one playoff series win during his tenure. Is Keefe the right coach for the Leafs moving forward? 1. Look at his resume. He's a decent AHL coach, can't get it done in the big leagues.

He's had four years. Move on and find someone new.

  2. It doesn’t matter, this organization is in free fall. Any other city with the Leafs record would have been sold by now.

  3. Has to enforce creating more chances off the rush, be creative and move the puck faster in the playoffs… as we've seen glimpses of in the reg season.

  4. But he looks visibly outcoached in the playoffs. Lots of desperation moves and over thinking. Afraid to reprimand or punish top players, or bench them a shift or two or force them to push back when they get washed in scrums..
