  1. Shark need to sign Patty, he'll give Eklund a home and return the favor for living with Kelly Hrudey in his rookie season! In all seriousness I hope Eklund stays and I also miss Patty too.

  2. I respectfully disagree. At this point I think the conclusion is he's not ready for the NHL full time yet. Between the AHL (a farmer league) and the SHL, I think the latter is the better option. The Swedish elite league has a great track record when it comes to developing prospects in their D+1 season. Almost every single prospect drafted out of Sweden stays another year to develop and mature their game. Take a page out of Detroit's book, Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider both spent a year in the SHL before transitioning to the NHL and it's clearly helped them develop a more NHL ready game. Don't rush the kid, let him come back here and develop his game in a real, competitive league while also saving a year on his rookie contract. Win win.

  3. I don’t understand how another year in SEL helps his development. He’s already proven he can score in that league, he needs to adjust to the North American style and figure out how to be creative with less ice and less time to think.
