He’s the type of player the Leafs need but Wilson is probably just about broken down by now with the Wendel Clark physically reckless style he has had.

i would take Tom Wilson on the Leafs all day long, he is exactly what Toronto needs.
His best before date is long past. Since he spends a ton of time in the penalty box , when not out of the lineup with yet another injury, the team would have to have the best penalty killers in the league.
The Leafs need a number one Dman to shut things down and allow Reilly to have a consistent regular season. Adding another winger before dealing with the D, and probably the goalies, is silly.

Capitals love Wilson. It's believed he will be the next Captain when Ovi retires. He's also said he wants to finish his career in DC and doesn't care about the money. Capitals GM has already said they will be working on extending him as soon as they are able to. Wilson is not going anywhere. No team is going to offer what it would take for the Capitals to even think about trading him.

Usually a fan of Rosie, but the comments about the Leafs getting 'pushed around' & "waiting for the (useless as f*ck) refs to get involved" to do their job is sort of bullshit. I've watched Vegas players turning the other cheek more than a few times vs Florida because they were told by Cassidy not to get sucked into after-the-whistle shit & ending up in the box, which is playing right into Florida's shit-disturbing playbook. I admit it would've been nice to have a few guys that could play, but also put some fear into rats like Tkachuk, Gudas, Bennett & Montour & a few others, but those guys are in short supply. To be clear, Tkachuk is 6' 2" & 201 lbs, Bennett is 6' 1" & 195, Gudas is 6' & 208 & Montour is 6' & 194 & Cousins is 5' 11" & 192 so they're not monsters, they're full volume rats & play that relentless greasy rat style with late hits, cross-checks, holding-the-stick fouls, picks & lots of after the whistle bullshit that rarely gets called in the post-season.
As soon as they see what they can get away with in a given game, they immediately go over that line & if they have a delayed penalty coming then they commit more fouls as they know the likelyhood os getting a 2nd minor is remote in a playoff game & the refs of course let them do it for the most part. The melee after the expiration of time in game 4, instigated by Montour cruising in from the point & decking McNabb from behind is atypical of their rat-f*ck style of play. What unfolded afterwards was a complete disgrace IMO, especially the behaviour of that rat of rats Tkachuk on Pietrangelo who he has been targeting all series.
The solution is so simple. The refs go over to the Florida bench before the game starts & announce, "no more of the after whistle bullshit". They say "if we see Tkachuk or anyone else punching Pietrangelo, or anyone else in the face glove-on or not, I'm calling it regardless even if you already have one coming. You stick to that & it's over, but they're chicken-shit & are 'worried' about somehow being 'unequal' about what gets called. It's bullshit, if there's a legit, black & white penalty, you call it whether or not the offending team has already taken 4 or 5 or not. Sometimes one team is playing clean & the other isn't, so call them all!! I guarantee they'll stop doing it if it's hurting them. In the Toronto series the refs called 5 against Florida to 1 against Toronto in one game (game one I believe). They were ALL legit calls, then they stopped calling anything & as soon as Florida realized it, the over-the-line rat play re-appeared in full force.
