As for the Habs; best case scenario – They squeak into a wild card, Leafs choke in the first round again, and Montreal gets eliminated in the second round. We’ve seen many a Cinderella run in sports. I don’t know how many times we’ve seen a team do it two years in a row.

Everybody wants to win and Savard wants to do it with his hometown team, I see nothing wrong with that, he is full of confidence and probably invisioned winning the cup in Montreal as a kid. Clearly he is proud of comming home and wants to live the dream.
Lot of people saying Montreal will miss the playoffs. Probably the same people who thought Toronto would sweep them in playoffs.

Until tampa ia out they are my pick. They are a rebuilding team having a dynasty. Victor Hedman was over looked his entire career, stamkos was shadowed his whole career. They wanna leave a team to Point, Vassy and sergachev with as much skills and awards possible. They even might get better from when they hang it up.

they were a compete cinderella team. I think dallas was a better team the year they made it to the final and look at what happened the next season. I don’t believe this team has what it needs to be a true contender but a lot of people are treating montreal like a super team

Well… Price wasn't really strong in the regular season, and Price, Weber, Gallagher, and others were banged up in the 2nd half of the season. I think with Weber's possible retirement, Price is looking at "mortality" a bit, and knows the next couple of years will be the best chance for him. Price for the Vezina?
Savard can replace Weber on D. Hoffman can replace Weber on the PP. The young kids should be much better, and let's hope that Petry, Gallagher, Toffoli, and others aren't banged up for the playoffs again like they were last year.
