  1. Hi Rick , do you because Caufield and PLD has the same agent , pat Brisson , it's funny how only hours after Caufield contract was announced, Brisson came out informing Jets PLD wanted a trade , something tells me that PLD will be a Hab this summer ,
Trade Chips might involve Dvorak, Harris , Beck , or Anderson , throw in a pick , Beck is NHL ready in my opinion, and he's a Center , or they don't want Dvorak , that's my opinion, what do you think?

  2. Habs should pass on PLD. There is a good culture now with the Habs. There are enough players in the system now that they should give a chance to prove themselves. Plus it’s too early in the rebuild to get him.

  3. your not getting him for some fringe prospects, hoffman or of that type,it will start with a first rounder to begin with..so dream on if you think its a 7th rounder going over and some players montreal dont want..and if he goes to free agency the ny rangers might grab him up

  4. Fk Off w/ the Dubois nonsense .. dude, can go wherever the fk he wants as long it's not the Habs .. Drouin 2.0 is NOT what we need.

  5. if he comes to Montreal it will be less then Captain Nick…… trade depends what they want or wait a year and get him losing no one….still not 100% sold on him as he just seems to be on a 2 year plan..plays 2 years and wants out. almost a Prima Donna like Drouin…. he just does not seem like a team player and that is the part that worries me the most.

  6. Depends who they draft. If they can move up the draft and draft Carlson or Fantilli then you don't really need Dubois.
If they can't move up then draft Leonard and trade for Dubois.

  7. It all depends on how they see Kurby Dach as a futur 1st or 2nd center. Might not even need DLP.

  8. Jets need a re-build as people want out….we can not give them players we see as our future…..PLD is no where near 9 million…he is only a 6.5 to 7 million a year at most. he has mediocre numbers and nothing outstanding about his game….can not compare PLD stats to Nick as Nick was on a team racked with man games lost..so Nick's line was never consistent…always missing one piece… we can not predict how he will do but he does not seem like a locker room positive. TERM AND PRICE ARE A MAJOR DETERRENT AND WHAT WE HAVE TO GIVE UP…Toronto does not have cap to sign him and Boston in same situation…

  9. Depends on what $$$ he will sign for – as long as it's not a penny more than Suzuki I would do it. If he wants a trade in 3 years, trade him, no problem. Imagine our top 2 lines, Dach – Suzuki – Calfeild and Slav – PLD – Michkov, that looks pretty darn good.

  10. PLD actually whined to get off his Jr team too. I know I'm in the minority of Habs fans here, but I don't want him on the team. He seems selfish and negative. I don't want that in the Habs locker room again.

  11. It’s real simple. If management thinks he passes the character test, I will trust their judgement. If he can be acquired for Dvorak, a 2nd round pick and a B level prospect, at a cap hit less than Caufield’s, the I’m absolutely on board. I’m not interested at anything over 7.5, and I’m not interested at giving up any more time in a trade. I’d love to have him, but I can live without him

  12. I think this is very simple. If Smith is available at 5, take him and we won't need Dubois. If he is not, we might end up drafting Mitchkov, or most likely, Leonard and then we might want to take a look at a center like Dubois.

  13. Stupid to pay PLD 9m and I don’t see any team doing that and giving up big assets. The most id consider is Suzuki $ and as far as assets Dvorak plus Florida 1st and B prospect

  14. MTL has a good core right now, both in offense and defense. Priority for them is to get a real #1 goalie. Priority #2 is to get rid of some lemons. I don’t see them making a huge trade at all this year, especially if it means letting go one of our top futur player.

  15. Don’t think it’s fair to say 3rd team in 7, when he asked out of Columbus he already ask to go to Mtl and Jets took the risk that he will loved being there. So he only ask one trade. That being said, im not a huge fan of PLD so two things:1. Not giving too much to aquire him, for 37th, Harris or Barron and Roy or Farrel is enough. 2. PLD, you absolutely want to play in Mtl so max 8mX8y. Don’t think we « need » PLD, great addition yes, but not at all cost, he ask for Mtl not the opposite.

  16. No way the rebuild is going great. PLD will screw it all up. If he wants to play here so bad give him 3 million.

  17. I still think that the Jets will ABSOLUTELY demand a HUGE haul of assets in exchange for PLD. If you consider that the Jets gave up Patrick Laine and Jack Roslovic to get PLD (a third overall pick) so it stands to reason that they would expect at least similar compensation. And probably more, considering PLD is now in his prime. The other part of this that COULD play into this trade, is that Hellebuck and others may also be looking for an escape route out of the 'Peg! For me, Im not interested in trading for this guy. The Habs have a fair amout of potential on the roster and in the minors and junior, but after finishing 32nd and 27th the last two years, its safe to say that the rebuild is STILL ongoing. Giving up KEY assets at this stage doesnt make sense. If Im the GM, I wait until PLD hits Free Agency and then MAYBE take a run at him. However, his salary expectations, combined with Nick and CC22's salaries wont push the Habs salary cap to the edge, like the Leafs "core four", but it COULD hinder the team signing the likes of Mailloux, Kidney, Beck, Slav, and even this season's 1st rd draft pick, down the road. If the Habs are trying to make this team a "sustainable contender" then they simply cannot sign PLD to a HUGE salary north of $7M, even though we all know he will likely get MORE than $8M elsewhere. Hughes, just keep on acquiring better draft picks. Keep acquiring talented prospects, thru trades. There is no need to "break the mold" at this point. We need Gorton to be 100% on-board with this Hughes plan and NOT cave to pressure from Ownership or the Media & fans. Patience is going to be KEY for the next 2-3 years. The Habs have a good thing going now, but progress is still calibrated in baby steps at this point. One bad trade, could have disasterous consequences at this stage.
