I am still happy with the trade. getting rid of Jack helped this team
Jack didn´t win the cup by himself. I´ḿ happy for Jack though and I love my Sabres.
Buying players and parting with draft capital sure has worked for Vegas. If they keep doing it every few years they will stay good. We already have a great young core, that is why I hope Adams buys a few key parts this summer. We could be real good as soon as next season. I'm sick and tired of waiting, especially after the Vegas run. Every night was a gut punch to Sabres fans. Round out the team with some tough defense first vets to balance the kids and make some BIG GOD DAMNED NOISE in the playoffs.
Thanks for a great year Wayne. You were objective in the Stanley Cup with Eichel and Vegas. We took the high road. Thank you for having the Sabres back.

Baby 👶 Jack was never worth $10mil per. He wasn't the heart of Vegas (Stone is) & Baby Jack's next contract he will want more than $10mil per. Good luck Vegas when Stone retires & you have a overpaid Baby 👶 Jack to rely on instead.

Sadly, I don't think we do much better with McDavid. The front office wasted Jack for years. Just signed guys because they had good years.. drafted questionably… Reinhart never really got up to his draft hype.. Dahlin looked like a bust until Granato.. Thompson was the same way. I agree, Lego and The Hockey Guy both are painting the trade as a very good hockey trade for both sides.. and to be honest, mid-season.. it looked like the Sabres won by a wide margin.. Tuch was out scoring and performing Jack.. the rest of the guys were just bonus material (and they've been looking pretty good.).. But this playoffs.. Jack finally showed what he could do and he did it by not being greedy… what set the Great One apart from the rest.. oh, He scored so many goals.. but he often had even more assists.. and when he was putting 92 in the net, he put 120 on his teammates stick so they could…. that's making everyone better. He never had a season where scored even close to his assist numbers.. and we all know.. he scored soooooo many.

Yep. The biggest reason why I didn't want Vegas to win because now we get to spend the off-season listening how buffalo was completely at fault for everything during eichels time with us. All that matters to us is we are leagues better without eichel than we were with him. Good on Vegas for winning the cup and I congratulate Jack but let's not kid ourselves, Vegas was a contender before he was traded there
