I said the other night that I would give up our 3rd overall pick if we could get either Sidney Crosby or Ovechkin and a time machine. I saw something about the Canadiens trying to trade up. I was like, okay….give us Suzuki and either Slafkofski or Caufield. They would never entertain what I would want. My reasoning is that this is one of the deepest drafts at the top in NHL history. It is going to be a very, very long time, in all likelihood, that there is a draft class this stacked to come around again. Even before the word came out about the Habnots wanting to trade up, on my NHL 23 game, I traded Roslovic and Merzlikins to them for Dach and Samuel Montembeault.

I'm with Jay!! That 3rd isn't going anywhere unless a Top 15 Center in the League right now thats under or around 25ish is coming back!!! I still think we can move our 33rd pick this year , our 1st next year and Roslovic and a defender like Cuelemans or Bean for Lindholm!! That would have to come with an extension in place and a pick!! We could still keep the #3 and do our #33rd + next years 1st for Kuz or Schmaltz and I'd be a happy camper!! I'll go to my grave thinking we need a #1 Center right Now for at least the next 3 to 4ish years until Fantilli or Carlsson are ready to Play on that Top Line!! And there's always the chance that something unforeseen happens to one of them and it just doesn't work out for whatever reason !!! Laine will be in contract talks again after this season, Yea Laine has 2 years after this season already,Johnnys getting older, we don't have time to wait!! And Damnit Jay We've had Patience for a Real #1 Center for 23 years😂😂😂 I'll never forgive this Franchise for not getting Jake Eichel 2years ago on the Cheap which would've only turned out to cost us Silly, Mateychuk (our 2-1st)and Jake Bean + Rumors were they also liked Korpi back then but regardless whoever Buffalo would've wanted!! And Look at Eichel Now🥲😢 Eichel, Johnny and Laine would've been so sick!!!
I know how badly we need a franchise center, but I am worried that we will look back on this draft and regret passing on Michkov.
