Chris Johnston: “What I can tell you is that [Elias Lindholm] is interested in staying. He’s definitely open to it. But he’s kind of in the driver’s seat, right?”

Well that’s some good fucking news

This is the same phrasing we heard with Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Words mean nothing until there’s pen on paper.

If I put myself in Lindholm’s shoes with so many players possibly leaving, why would he stick around through a rebuild? I think some pieces need to fall before he commits to anything

Does this mean pretty much nothing Yes

But fuck it I’ll take it

If he’s not signed by deadline you deal him idc how good the team is doing, I’d be inclined to say if he isn’t signed by the end of camp trade him

Conroy has gotta be ruthless with this one, can’t keep walking players to free agency. Take a page outta the Vegas book and get nasty.

If you don’t have a verbal agreement by the draft, move him. This draft is incredibly deep and the haul Lindholm could get you could be franchise defining. I love the guy but I’m not really interested in this whole on the fence on the fence other side of the fence like they did with Gaudreau.

Annica has a new baby and a fuck-you mansion nearing completion in Sweden, seems to me like she would be way more down for him to play in a city closer to home.

Seravalli said he thinks lindholm either signs or gets traded by the draft

Get as many first rounders this year as possible. At this point, it’s ingratiating to beg the players to stay. Make the first move and get the best possible return in deep picks this year.

Trade out Hanifin, Lindholm, Dube as well as Toffoli. Just a bold reset.

Rather have 2 years of pain with new faces from Flames prospects (and there are many exciting ones) under the new management, than 2 years of pain with the same old same on ice product.
