Trevor Zegras And Troy Terry EXTENSIONS? – John Gibson TRADE? – What’s Next For The Anaheim Ducks!

Kirk Day, Noah Byrne, and Nick Miller discuss what we may see next from the Anaheim Ducks during this massive offseason for the team. With the second overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft, there is about a 99% chance that we will see the Ducks draft Adam Fantilli adding to their already fantastic list of prospects, but this offseason isn’t all glitz and glamour for Anaheim because they will have to negotiate contract extensions for some huge names on this team such as Troy Terry, Jamie Drysdale, and of course, Trevor Zegras. These players will obviously come with a humongous price tag and Anaheim will have to add to its cap space to comfortably resign these players as well as be active in free agency. This might come at the price of needing to add cap space and one possible option for this is trading John Gibson. With prospect Lukas Dostal looking good, the Ducks may choose to swap to their goalie of the future earlier than may have been expected. We talk about all this and more in this episode of rinkside digest.

  1. Lottery resets after round 1 by the way. Ducks will have the 33rd pick overall in the 2nd round

  2. For adds expect them to move Gibby like you said. And to add a LHD and RHD in fre agency. Like a Soucy and Clifton. Up front, one of Colton, Fredric or Sharangovich are on my wish list lol

  3. Im just anxious to hear something. specifically the extensions. I hope we make some additions/trades this offseason too. I know we're not gonna be much better, but I cant deal with another last place season.

  4. Are you blatantly trying to rip off Habs Digest or is Josh running and editing this channel too?

  5. Another way to look at it is with this draft being so deep and having three second round picks the odds might be favorable that you land one of those second round steals. Also you guys are one of the few channels that gives Gibson the credit he deserves and understands that the types of shots and the volume of shots he was facing all year were a recipe for disaster no matter which goalie you’re talking about. My fantasy trade is one of our 2nds and an additional pick or a mid prospect/ depth player for Alexis Lafreniere 😅. I really think with the opportunity he would have to play in the top six and top PowerPlay consistently he would really flourish here especially with the fact that the spotlight would really be taken off him too
