Let me know your expectations for the Lighting this off season
Tampa bay lightning needs to get younger faster and made the d-man fast
Tampa is going to be just fine–still a strong playoff team but it will be interesting to see who they keep and who they let go.
It was a great run, and they still have the coach and a good enough team to make the playoffs. But they arenât winning any more cups with that core imo. They are spent.
I'll tell you Mike….I was shocked that TB lost to the Leafs this year in the playoffs. This team when at the top of their game are as good as any team in the league…just look at their stats. I thought for sure that "Vas" would find his game, the "D" would solidify their game, the "O" would come alive and the Lightening would contend for the Cup….they went out with a whimper and I wonder what pieces they'll need to get back in the hunt.
Should be interesting to see how they do this coming season.
Bolts have a top notch core, but their depth has been eroding. Killorn would be a tough one to lose, after already losing Palat and McDonough. Colton would be another one. Jeannot is in a no win situation on this. They have to sign him, and even if he gives a discount, he'll be partly blamed for team losing other players. LTIR angle seems to be the only way out of the cap mess. Think they will be treading water next season, looking over their shoulder at the up and coming teams in the Atlantic.
If Killorn goes I hope Barbashev comes
