  1. Highly doubt there’s any bidding war. I bet the return is going to be underwhelming I also think LA won’t be in it and will be after a goalie. Yes Montreal waits it out not to mention that July 7th is Winnipegs big date for arbitration at that point they have less leverage. Everyday that goes by until the draft puts Winnipeg in a tighter spot

  2. The amount of work LA would have to do to fit this guy in is (one of the reasons) why it doesn't make any sense. They start with 1 too many NHL forwards that are not waiver eligible. That's one player who has to be moved. Right now, if they get a deal done for Vilardi, they can't afford a second goalie. And I mean, ANY second goalie, not especially a good one. That means a second player not named Vilardi has to be moved to afford a goalie. NOW you try to add a (cough, laugh, fix collar awkwardly) 9 million dollar center, who categorically will NOT play ahead of Anze Kopitar under Todd McLellan, and doesn't deserve to? And you want to give up names like Vilardi, Byfield, or Clarke? No.

LA has been building the way LA builds, not the way Florida or Carolina builds. I wouldn't look for that to change, honestly. Dean Lombardi got canned because he promised a Cup contender for 15 years and instead delivered a 2 times in 3 years champ that couldn't contend for 10 after that. PLD isn't going to make sense, even for one year, if you have to move out building block players.

  3. There's no way the Habs with the culture they are instilling are going to bring in this guy and pay him more than Suzuki and Caufield; it's not happening. Let him go to the Kings.

  4. GMs owning PLD calling to teams for trade is like people handing out pamphlets in the mall:
"Here you toss it in the bin".

  5. Why fight for Pierre-Luc Dubois, in 2 and a half weeks Tyler Bertuzzi is going to be available.

  6. WOW – The Pirre luc Dubois saga just keeps on rolling. This guy is a prima
madonna, and a living soap opera. I wish someone would sign him, but he's
doing his best to diminish his trade value, by being such a baby. I'll be willing
to bet, wherever he goes, the max he'll be there is 3 years, and he'll want out.

  7. I just don't see any other team that can 1. Fit Dubois' supposed contract of 9m$ & 2. makes a better offer than what MTL can offer Winnipeg. If MTL wants him they'll get him it's just a matter of how bad do they want him and are they willing to pay the price winnipeg is asking.

  8. Dubois having more than even one bidder shows just how little talent is available in today's NHL.

  9. Pld tipped his hand to hughes by saying he wants to ho there. If he truly wants to be in Montreal then he wont sign long term anywhere and will sign as ufa next year for 8M. If not Montreal doesnt need him imo

  10. Would not surprise me at all if the Montreal Canadiens organisation wanted to hire Eric Engels sometime in the future, as an adviser or something like that.

Eric Engels is a Montreal Canadiens specialist. His perspective on the team is always great to hear.👌

  11. Bidding? Dubois is not worth 8-9 millions nor the 5th pick nor few A prospects. So stop being clic baits like The Athletic-Bait miserable journalistic stuff. We fuc** don’t care!

  12. Instead of Elliotte moaning that he is turning into Cheveldayoff megaphone, why doesn't he just invite PLD to his podcast like he did in the past and ask him point blank where he wants to really play and end this circus once and for all?
