For Father’s Day, my wife gave me a new hoodie. I had gotten this one from Costco when they had it on special and have always loved how warm it was. It’s been my “away jersey” for days we had road games.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with it. Only “issue” is the pilling you can see in the photos. Under the arms, it’s pilled like an old woolen sweater. I haven’t attempted to sweater shave it, I just let it be.
Instead of donating to Goodwill or selling it on Mercari/eBay, I thought I’d just give it away here. It’s not 100% perfect, but it’s good and warm and has been well loved.
I’ll do it random drawing style. It’s XXL, and fits a little loose to size (I’m between 2XL and 3XL and it was comfortable and covered my stomach). I’ll cover shipping and wash it before mailing it too. All you need to do… Reply here with:
* Favorite moment from last season.
* Favorite player.
* If you’re Seattle local or not, and where you hail from.
I’d honestly like to see this shipped to someone who doesn’t have Kraken merch at a local store, so you can rock it proudly in style. I’ll do the drawing Sunday morning.
*And mods, if inappropriate, I’ll gladly remove… Just wanted to share some love…*

1) Watching Kartye debut and score his first goal in the playoffs
2) Morgan Geekie
3) Bend, Oregon
Fave player – Grubauer
Fave moment from last season – when my boyfriend and I unknowingly gave each other tickets to see the Kraken play the Ottawa Senators in Ottawa for Christmas. Kraken won 8-4 and I’ve never seen such a high scoring game where I wasn’t the losing goalie!
I’m a middle aged woman from Ottawa, Ontario Canada and I am a former university level hockey player – and now a Kraken fan for more than just their awesome name and jersey!
Edit – spelled Kraken wrong one time … hanging my head in shame.
– My favorite moment from last season was when Matty scored the overtime game winner against the Caps on the bumrush immediately after the opening faceoff.
– Gotta love the PepperPot. Yanni is a treasure.
– My family is from Yakima, but I was raised in Kent and Monroe, WA. Currently living in Boise, ID
SQUID SQUAD
GO KRAKEN!
Fave player – Dreiger
Fave Moment – Game 7 against the Avs…all of it lol
I’m in Bremerton, Wa but hail from Miami (It’s been a hell of a playoffs as both the Cats and Kraken are household teams!)
Seeing the Kraken make it to the playoffs amid all the doubters
Matty Beniers
Originally from Puyallup, WA but living in Arvada, CO. Love wearing my Seahawks stuff in enemy territory
Game 6 against Dallas. The Ebs empty netter to seal it especially.
Yanni! Or Kartye.
Kinda?? I live 300 miles away but I make it games when I can
My favorite moment this season was Eberle’s OT winner
My fav player is Jared McCann (definitely doesn’t stem from my love of cheddar the chrese corgi)
And I’m from Duluth MN ( I’ve never even been to Seattle, but the kraken are just too awesome)
1. The wraparound goal Donato scored early in the season. My friend and I remember it well and call it “The Turtleshell Spin”.
2. Brandon Tanev.
3. Houston, Texas
Edit: I didn’t notice the size when I typed this up and the sweater would be too big for me, so skip me for the giveaway. I was more writing because I wanted to share my thoughts anyways, I hope whoever wins enjoys it!
Favorite moment – walking into CP Arena for my first ever NHL game. (Dallas before playoffs)
Favorite player – Larsson, Turbo, Eberle (let’s go 13’s), Matty, Gru, Canner, ummmm. Can’t pick one sorry. Dang see I went and left out Dunner.
Im born and raised in Seattle. Except when we moved north (Shoreline), in Tacoma now.
Please pass me over for drawing, I have an awesome hoodie sweater I got for Christmas, and a 3X (or fits like 3X) would probably hit my knees (not the tallest dude). I just wanted to celebrate memories, so cheers for the chance to do that.
Favorite moment: Watching the boys give it to Boston at home
Favorite Player: Schwartz
Where you from: Currently living at the WA coast at Long Beach. Love being able to see the North Head lighthouse in the promos.
Pack it away in a box and pull it out in 10 years. Then it’ll be a sweet throwback.
Game six against Dallas was unreal
Tanev has been my favorite since day 1
I’m from Ohio but currently living in Okinawa Japan. There’s definitely zero merch available here.
1) Shutting out the Bruins on their home ice
2) Brandon Tanev, dude knows only one speed and it is SPEED
3) Hartford, CT. I lived through but didn’t process the entire Whalers debacle in my youth. When I gave up on baseball and football and decided to give this hockey thing a try, the expansion had just been announced, and I thought “Why not just pick the new guys?” I’ve been in love ever since.
1. watching my wife freak out during game 6 against the Stars
2. Tanev. Endless drive
3. Spokane!
Moment: Game 7 in Denver
Player: Geekie is my guy, but Matty is going to be a bona-fide star for us!
Location: Had to sadly move from Puyallup a couple of years ago. Now call Deweyville, Utah home!
Watching Tolvanen skate circles around the Blackhawks this April.
Tanev. Always.
Chicago, IL
Favorite moment: Matty’s gwg 7 seconds into OT against the Caps
Favorite player: Adam Larsson, the Ginger Viking
I’m not in Seattle, I’m in a small town in Iowa (Kraken fan because I lived in Seattle for a while & still love the place. Would move back, if I could.)
-Favorite moment was taking the former Stanley Cup Champion Avalanche out of the playoffs!
-I don’t have one favorite player but I was really happy how well Grubaby turned up in the playoffs so I choose Grubauer with Kartye coming in close with how he came up and performed like he’s been there before!
-Born and raised in North Seattle but currently reside on the Eastside.
Kraken making it to the playoffs.
Jamie Oleksiak
Currently in the Phoenix area, originally from Kirkland.
Fav moment… post season, when Turbo blew a kiss to the Avs fans after his goal.
Fav player… honestly, it’s like asking who your fav child is, but Turbo was the first jersey I bought.
I’m in Marysville and have the same sweatshirt, but if I’m selected I’m going to send it to my sister who lives in Denver and tried to steal mine
