Big Big mistake how can you lock in a player that has no heart and doesn't give a shit he's a negative on the rest of the team
Honestly, if he doesn't want a max deal trade him for someone that wants to be in Toronto. Last thing any team needs is a prima donna, half in half out, type player. Send him elsewhere and let him tank a different team for the net decade. Matthews has zero heart, its really sad to see. Not like he is alone on the team, Heartless is their identity at this point.
This year Matthews was not one of the top ten NHL players in the league. Matthews presents himself well to the media. My guess is Matthews gets overpaid by the Leafs – but that is just a big part of Leafs culture.
