The kid is undeniably the second most talented player in this draft and I would have no problems with the Ducks taking him.. IF it is guaranteed he comes over once his contract in the K is up. I feel like if Verbeek were to make this choice at 2nd overall he would know something we don’t. It’s too big of a risk at 2nd ovr with no guarantee in place when a player of Fantilli is available, just my thoughts.

I don’t have a problem taking michkov, but doing at 2 feels like a waste when you could see about trading down and probably still get him. Montreal or the Sharks would both probably pay handsomely to move up.

Please just pick Fantilli

They don’t want him. He’s falling.

The pod said it’s not a report, just a theory based on the speculation about verbeek having worked with yzerman in det and his “maverick” draft style.
If they want to follow this strategy trade down to say 4 and let a team grab the center they want.
However it’s unlikely because it sets your rebuild, competition window back 3 years when zegras, terry, etc are getting expensive contracts this off season.

Wont happen.

BREAKING: I just received a txt from someone saying that the Anaheim Ducks will select Anthony Fantilli at #2
See I can do it too

I fucking hope not. There are way too many red flags to use the highest draft pick in franchise history on him. The contract issue, the character issues, his size and intangibles, etc. I think he’s super talented, but I also fear he has Nail Yakupov written all over him.
Howardtheduck14
It’s pretty flimsy. Basically it’s more about Yzerman and just kind of assumes Verbeek will be more of the same but doesn’t really examine who Verbeek is.
Maybe it happens but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Verbeek would value Fantilli and/or Carlsson more than Michkov even without the other stuff. Verbeek seems to love size and has spoke often about compete level and Michkov has neither.

respectfully I want Fantilli as an Anaheim Duck redditor
