It’s the first day of Summer and yes, things will REALLY start heating up soon. Hunter starts the show off by discussing Ryan Graves and how he could be a fit with the Penguins in free agency. Hunter dives into his numbers from this past season and how they would’ve stacked up against other Penguins defensemen outside of Kris Letang. he also analyzes what he saw from Graves in the film room, whether it was being patient at the blue line, being a bit more physical in the defensive zone, or burying chances when he gets time and space to line up a shot. Hunter also looks at what type of contract he would be asking for since Vladislav Gavrikov just got paid in a big way by the Los Angeles Kings. Would Kyle Dubas want to spend that money? After that, Hunter looks at who his dream selection would be at No. 14 overall. He analyzes his play and how he’d be the best Penguins prospect since they drafted Derrick Pouliot (yes, he knows how that panned out). Finally, Hunter ends the show by congratulating Tom Barrasso on finally getting into the Hockey Hall of Fame while also slamming the HOF for not inducting Alexander Mogilny.

I would love to see graves in black and gold next season.
Ryan Graves would fit in perfectly with Penguins and be a great replacement for Dumoulin. I even said about Ryan Graves when I was looking at the list of UFAS for defenseman. I think Graves, Orlov, and Noah Hanifin (via the trade route) are three defenseman that Kyle Dubas is going to target.
Hunter, I apologize if you have talked about this already, but I could see Kyle Dubas targeting Michael Bunting via free agency. I absolutely would love Bunting. You can slot him bottom or top 6, given Dubas ties to Toronto, I see him going after Bunting. I am big fan of Bunting. To me, he's like a younger version of Brandon Tanev, with a little better offense.
Yes yes yes I'm Grogu in the Mandalorian Graves yes yes yes Makes whole defense better domino effect Letang Graves ,Petry,Petterson ,Joseph, Ruuta Smith extra. Ruhweduel
Graves new goalie ,Bunting,Kerfoot ,By way Barrasso made Hall of Fame f you have segment sorry😂
We were willing to pay Dumo 4.1 to be next to Letang so if a 1-2 million dollar increase can get us Graves who’s 3 years younger than Dumo then I feel like that’s an absolute no brainer!
Also I’ve been seeing this idea tossed around and would love your opinion but would Erik Karlsson make sense at all? It’s not my first choice but if they could find a way to have SJ take on Petry or Grandlund (maybe both) would that be something Kyle Dubas has to look at and think this is a splash?
If Dmitry Orlov is going to ask for 7 to 8 million a year, I would pass on that. I like Orlov and I do think The Pens will look at him, because he is another defenseman that fits the way Sullivan wants to play, but not a 7-8 million a year no way.
GRAVES WORTH IT Petry will be fine also he had a broken wrist last yr
Pens on top 10 avaliable cap space Buyout Granlund maybe higher
It's funny you mentioned Ryan Reaves and that trade. I hated that move, it has come back to haunt The Penguins and for good reason. They traded Oskar Sundqvist and a 1st RD Pick for Ryan Reaves and later ended up trading Reaves and Filip Gustavsson in that three team deal that landed Derick Brassard, who is a bust here.
How good would Filip Gustavsson look in a Penguins uniform right now?
Number 1 pick Pickering for Hellerbuyck
300 wins multiple Stanley Cups Vezina trophies Barrasso finally
Barrasso best goalie history m oldr fan since 1990
1990s early wide open offense Barrasso said just so I give up one less goal other guy I saw ALOT of TOM
I'm not against it. But I would rather the money go to a goalie and the bottom six. If those improve, then the defense will look a lot better. Smith and poj can worry more about offense than being stuck in their zones.
Also if you came in Barrassos crease your getting WACKED he didnt care who you where great at handling puck you are right
If we can get Graves at $5 million x 5 or below with a Grandland buyout it’s worth it then sign and trade for Helly 5X7mil,for first,Legere,2024 first and third, then sign affordable 4 line through UFA!
