    Benson ehh, i feel like Raymond is about as short as im comfortable with when playing this heavy style we do.

    RIP Leonard to Red Wings. Dvorsky too. As much as I want those two, Moore, or Perreault I really am getting big Honzek/Willander feels from pick 9 right now.

    I’m really hoping for Daniil But at 17, probably the highest upside of anyone available there

    I would be absolutely over the moon with Zach Benson

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a consensus top 9. I’d bet the top 9 here is pretty much how it falls, maybe a different order 5-9

    Reinbacher needs to go top 8 for us to get one of the forwards though. I think that’s the thing I’ll be most concerned about on draft day before our pick

    Assuming the draft order goes as listed here (which its not likely too), I am probably looking at one of Moore, Benson, Perrault, but I would be OK with Barlow, Wood, or Honzek at 9.

    Provided we keep 17 I would be cool with one of Danielson, But, Willander, Sale, Stenberg, or Yager along with anyone who slides from guys I would take at 9. Possible to move up a bit and lose a 2nd to grab someone a bit higher.

    For the second round I would love to trade up for Edstrom, Halttunen or Dragicevic. Would be cool with any of Fiskar Molgaard, Hrabal, Wahlberg, Akey tho.

    Leonard and Dvorsky would be exciting falls, in that order of preference for me

    Past that, I’d be excited with any of:

    * Benson
    * Perreault
    * Then maybe Moore or Danielson

    Those first two largely sound fun to really swing on some potent IQ

    Thereafter, a lot of the common names sound exciting for 17, or an outside pick for 9 knowing Detroit:

    * Moore
    * Danielson
    * Honzek
    * Barlow
    * Simashev
    * Sandin Pellikka
    * Willander
    * But

    Yes, I listen to WWP lol, and just like they’ve said, I can see the reasoning for any of these at 9 or otherwise. Most of the draft for me since the Seider pick has been the excitement and fascination of seeing Detroit’s philosophies put to practice. If something breaks from the consensus, why? Can’t wait to see years down the line.

    2003 was the last time a defenseman didn’t go in the top 5 and tbh I’m not sold that Reinbacher won’t go 4 or even 5. The Sharks top 5ish prospects are all forwards. They could use a top flight Dman. I think Dvorsky to the Habs is basically a guarantee even if Smith falls to them.

    I’m no GM. It does look like a deep and quality draft.

    Go Wings!

    Bedard

    Fantilli

    Carlson

    One of Smith or Mitchkov

    Leonard

    Reinbacher

    Other of Smith or Mitchkov, Matthew wood or some other insane shit

    Dvorsky or Mitchkov if still there

    A lot of what-if’s, but this is me GM-braining it. I absolutely would not be shocked to see one of Smith or Mitchkov at the flyers pick. Work out something to take Hayes (eating the cap) and give one of the 2nds and move up.

    Realistically, we’ll probably take Wallinder or Danielson and I’ll be pissed, then pleasantly surprised when he’s Seider 2.0 and pretend I knew they’d be great.
