    Just stop this shit…I’m not saying I don’t like Scheifele, he just doesn’t put us in the playoffs. I think we need another legit top-line winger, a top-4 D, and a backup goalie that can win 12-15 games. Even then, are we in the playoffs? Still a year away IMHO. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk ✌️

    We do not just want to make the playoffs every few years like the flyers. We want to win a cup. Anyone over 26 is an instant non starter

    I would’ve loved to have him a couple years ago. He’s a scorer, and he’s pretty big. Probably not what we want right now but wtf do I know.

    Making the playoffs in 2024 isn’t the goal though. Building a core that gives the team multiple cracks at the cup is the goal and always has been

    Let’s look at the player, not the personality for a second. Outstanding offensive player, and especially at 5 on 5 where we lack. Pretty terrible defensively. But if you put him on a line with two of our best defensive forwards in Ras and Zadina, they could help compliment each other in the offensive and defensive zones respectively. Personally I think he’d be a good fit personnel wise.

    Contractually, he’s going to be 31 and UFA next offseason. If it doesn’t work out, we can trade him at the deadline similarly to what happened with Leddy and get some of what we gave up back. If it does work out then I think it would be relatively easy to negotiate at 3-4 year deal which isn’t terrible for a 31 year old really.

    Now personality wise, there’s been a ton of rumors that Scheifele and Wheeler are bad teammates and “toxic”. This could be 100% legit. Luckily we have Copp and Chiarot who were his teammate for many many years to give us more info on his character issues if there are any.
