Savard spent the past two seasons as the head coach of the Windsor Spitfires, coaching them to an 88-35-13 record, including a trip to the OHL Finals before losing to the Hamilton Bulldogs in seven games. He also spent a season as an assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues in 2019-20.
It’ll be interesting to see what he does with the powerplay
This is good news. Yesterday was bad news. Is tomorrow bad news?
Bruins fan here, this popped in my timeline for some reason.
I think Savard’s a great man and could be a great nhl head coach one day. He’s killed it everywhere he’s gone and has overcome a lot. I think this is an excellent hire
Marc Savard coming back to the flames is not something I actually expected. Button made a horrible decision to trade Savard rather than dealing with Gilbert (who Button also got rid of a couple weeks later because he already knew there were problems). It actually amazes me that Savard would be interested in coming back here but I’m happy to have him.
The Gilbert mess with Savard is one reason I’m hopeful for Hubs this season. He obviously didn’t mesh well with Sutter but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that sometimes a really talented player simply can’t shine under a certain coach and Savard under Gilbert is a perfect example (this assumes we don’t bleed out all our talent before Huberdeau gets a chance to show that last season isn’t going to be the norm).
welcome to the dumpster fire, Marc!
Finally, some good fucking food!
er, news!
This is great. Next to Love he was probably the most sought after guy for all the open AC positions.
I’m loving all the staff hires 👍🏼
The boys are about to have the best taped sticks in the league
I like this hire a lot, Savvy’s got a great mind for the game and hopefully will be a good fit for our younger team, coaching and player-wise moving forward.
Does anyone know what’s going to happen with Kirk Muller?
Is this supposed to make us feel better from yesterday
We need players not managers ffs!!

Finally so good fucking news
