As we should. It’s our due diligence and all, but honestly with everything happening in Russia right now there might see some shake ups in where Michkov falls

He’s the best non Bedard player in the draft. You’d be insane to not look at him. I still think anyone who passes on him is making a mistake since nobody that has a realistic shot at him js making a run anytime in the immediate future

I don’t know how to feel about this. That whole situation over there frightens me. That poor kid. Wonder how the recent loss of his father is affecting him.

If we were picking 4th and missed out on Fantilli and Carlsson I’d be up for the pick but we need a center badly.

I wonder with all the drama if he falls to the Caps if he just stays in the US instead of going back

I’m fine with Jarmo meeting him. It’s the smart move. Everyone knows we are taking a center (so tired of people saying we should get him over a 1C). Who knows, maybe there is a trade out there to be made, either for immediate help or to move back a spot or two, and then we still get Smith.

I don’t want Michkov, but it’s smart to talk to him and make people think. We only have four guys to meet (Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov, Smith), so it’s not like we’ll lose time talking to someone else.

BTW, for people saying Michkov is can’t miss, nah. You need to at least pretend to be interested in playing half-assed defense, which he doesn’t do. Also, it would help to not be short. Or slow. Or a crab ass. Funny how people only talk about the boom potential of Michkov, and never the bust potential.

And while I think the whole ‘he might never come over because Russia!!’ idea is a bit over the top right now, in two or three years, if the war is still going on (or escalated) then who knows. If he was coming this year, I wouldn’t be concerned. Three years from now? Who knows…
