Vinzenz Rohrer signs with Zurich in the Swiss A

Would be curious as to why he decided to go back to Europe, may just want to be closer to home?

  1. He played in Switzerland his whole life except the last two years in Ottawa. It’s honesly best case scenario for him and for us.

How would this affect his rights? CHL players right are retained only for 2 years if they remain unsigned, Euro players rights are retained for 4 years if left unsigned

This give the Habs 2 extra years to sign him, thanks

  4. And thus retaining his rights for an additional two year. Let him develop in Europe and bring him back later. W.

  5. It’s a form of contracts limit circumvention, letting Rohrer play in Europe from 20 to 22 instead of having to sign him just to play in Laval.

That’s fine. We can’t expect every draft pick to pan out. There’s an expected logjam for forwards. He probably needs to be elsewhere to shine before coming back.

Wishing him the best of luck. Hoping for a Heinemann situation
