[Pagnotta] All eyes on the Kings as they try to get to the finish line with the Jets to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois. Multiple players/pieces would be going to Winnipeg if this gets done, including Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo, and an extension for PLD would be expected.

sounds like a pretty good deal for the jets. They desperately need it.

  2. ghg1999

Marc bergevin screwing the habs over one final time

  3. Longshanks123

Wow that’s crazy by the Kings if this is even close to accurate … we could not and should not be interested at these prices

  4. Pagnotta’s not the most reliable, and nobody is reporting this, so take it with a grain of salt.

That being said, LA is probably more eager than Montreal to make a deal work, so they’ll end up offering more than what Montreal is willing to give.

Only way I see PLD in Montreal is if he plays hardball in the contract negotiations with LA. Because LA isn’t making that trade without an extension to go along with it.

  5. If he goes, cool, if he doesn’t, cool. I’m more bothered with who we pick at 5.

The only weird thing is only Pagnotta is talking about it. This is the biggest move of the summer and we’re getting silence from the big boys right now.

  6. Admirable_Pension_74

Yeah, if that was on the table the trade would already be done. PLD is not going to push LA over the top so I don’t see them paying this price.

Winnipeg really gonna take that over…checks notes….Anderson, Allen and a second?

Bye bye pld, let’s revisit in the twilight of your career as we do…briere, Lecavalier, jagr, etc etc.

  8. MB failing to pay in order to get us a Big centre all those years and all of a sudden the one opportunity we have to get a Big center in Montreal, He decides that he wants to pay a fortune for a different team

  9. unKappa

to anyone saying “just wait for UFA”. he’ll 100% sign long term with the team he gets traded too. i say theirs more chance that he wont ever be a hab (or atleast not a player).

  10. Thejaff72

That`s a crazy overpay. Vilardi by himself was on the same pace as Dubois last year, and now that he`s healthy could be a better player starting this coming year

  11. Dom9lives

Hey if this is what PLD wants, so be it.

  12. Vingt-Quatre

I get that PLD is very good and a very rare commodity but… Why the heck would the Kings do this?

  13. IronAgitated4329

Hey, at least we still have Carey Price and our French-Canadian charm!

  14. SceneAccomplished549

You know what…. for once I’m actually glad we didn’t get him.

The asking price is absolutely ridiculous, and I can’t wait to see the contract extension.

  15. _thewayshegoes

We don’t want him unless terms are very very friendly. And that would be dumb for him to do, go get the bag boy

  16. Bentley2004

And in 2-3 years he’ll want to he traded!

  17. math487

It would have been nice if he signed as UFA with us but we never needed him and I feel like if habs management really wanted him they would have traded for him last year instead of Dach. He’s just another QC born player we’re adding to the already long list who used the habs as leverage to get a better deal somewhere he really wanted to go

Sorry folks, I will get heat for this, but can we please stop searching for the next Quebecois savoir. We are finally able to (hopefully) get rid of the last boat anchor while Sergachev has 2 Cups.

This isn’t 1976 anymore – it’s a business and the constant clamour for the next QC saviour pushes up the prices. I am glad HuGo are businessmen first.

Look at TO and Tavares did one of those low ball contracts to play at home and f##k the rest of League. PLD can do that in a few years.

By the way, i actually do not mind $9M. Our 2 kids are good and we all hope they become superstars, but based on production to date, PLD has better numbers. Ok fire away🎯

  19. Jesus_Price31

Kings can offer all they want. PLD is literally going to use Montreal as leverage to get paid. Whether it works is another story.

I have no doubt PLD’s agent is demanding 9 a year and won’t go much less… so this is all going to come down to whether LA is willing to pay him that. If not, I think WPG is screwed and will be forced to trade him for less value (rental)… and he either ends up in Montreal in a year’s time, or Montreal ends up back in the mix with LA offering rental value.

Or… I have no fucking clue what I’m talking about…

I remember last year I said that if we don’t get him this year, we will never get him and this super smart dude argued against me saying he wants to be here and hes ufa soon blah blah blah. You can’t wait in this league. Enjoy LA PLD

  21. Neo_514

Given his pattern he will be asking for a trade in 3 years regardless.
