  1. Nice long interview :). Hope you can get some Dutchies in your flat soon! For suggestions; the Dutch TV crew has entirely been renewed this year since they went to a different provider. So it's the first time in f1 for pitreporter Stephane Cox, and commentators Melroy Heemskerk and Nelson valkenburg

  2. I use a camping cooker to warm up my tent when I go to watch racing and its a bit chilly, I do worry about carbon monoxide every time but not died yet

Ps you should get ugo ugochucwu on, I think he will be a future f1 driver after smashing the rookie British F4 championship this year

  3. it feels like forever since we’ve seen oscar! great podcast! how are we feeling about a collab with the screamingmeals boys. i feel like you boys would all have a fucking great time.

  4. I think Oscar will fight for the championship in some years against Max, Charles, George… He has that spark like MV had when he started in f1.

  5. Those guys asking Oscar on whether they could get into F4 and then him explaining why karting is so important, I kinda understand what he's saying here because I honestly feel like I got my "karting experience" through years and years of racing online, as mad as that sounds. It directly translates to real life because it's still racing at the end of the day.

Once you have the skillset and assuming you're both practiced at it to be competent and fit/conditioned enough to actual deal with a real car, most of racing wheel to wheel is more mental/psychological like most other sports, that aspect of competing with other people doesn't change. There's stuff about sim racing that directly translates not only to real life or karting or whatever, but also other sports too. I see the differences as just things you adapt to, the rest is just honing the fundamentals that allow you to compete in whatever game you decide to play.

  6. why do i think that oscar will win his first GP than Lando hahaahaha

  7. Me thinking why he is a flat. Oh he’s getting half a mil next year at mclaren. Lando getting $30m lol 😆

  8. 2021 I was so invested into the f1 season with max vs Hamilton was honestly the best season I’ve seen.

2022 too me was bit of a let down as max dominated everything.

next year I’ve got that excitement again because I’ve watched Oscar through his junior career and I’m eager too see him go up against lando in his first season.

  9. It would be VERY COOL if we Robert, Oscar and Logan in an episode to compare their journeys through motor racing.

  10. Man he is so chill. Its like nothing can faze him. He's in a constant state of nonchalance.

Like how tf is his mind not blown. If I were in his shoes I'd be so excited every single minute of every day leading up to the first race. Imagine automatic stardom and celebrity status in 5 months.

  11. Oscar came across as an intelligent well rounded guy and he clearly has talent. I think the interviewers did a good job although they steered clear of anything contentious. My only criticism was they were very laddish, perhaps their style, and fawning and trying to massage Oscars ego. However full marks to Oscar in the way he handled it as he clearly has his feet on the ground. I look forward to seeing him next year and his choice of team could be a masterstroke or the death knell on a young career going against a proven driving star like Lando.

  12. You guys earned a new sub today, loved this one and the one with Crofty was great too. I be checking out a few more in the coming days.

  13. Oscar comes off as a very, very humble young guy who isn't full of himself. He's got low ego and I hope he holds on to that when the cameras start snapping. Good luck man and thanks PitStop for a fun interview.

  14. For the record, the junior single seater ladder is now:

    F2
    F3
Formula Regional/FR (the now defunct Formula Renault Eurocup was at this level). The top FR series is FREC.
F4. The top F4 series is Italian F4.

There never was a 'Renault Formula 4' or whatever lads, as Oscar said!

You can gain a lot of knowledge about a driver's pedigree coming into F1 by looking at their junior career on their wikipedia page and analysing how well they did considering their age, number of years in single seaters, team, etc. What a lot of people don't realise is that Lando's junior single seater career was even better than Oscar's, because they haven't looked into it and only know that Lando never won F2. But there's more to it than that. Personally I'd say the top 4 junior single seater careers of current drivers are Verstappen's, and then Alonso's, Norris' and Leclerc's and on around the same level.

  15. Seems to me like a grounded genuinely nice guy, hope the machinery is kind and you exceed expectations, but most of all enjoy the year Oscar.

  16. I can't believe I didn't watch this earlier😭😂

Also, Jake, I'm an Arsenal fan as well. If you guys see this message, you reckon Arsenal might go all the way and win the PL now?👀

  17. hopefully Oscar can show his incredible talent in what’s looking like a sh*tbox Mclaren…in F3 & F2 he was a cut above like Hamilton & Leclerc were

  18. that last question at 1:07:05 was really insightful that I enjoyed very much. It's not too often I hear questions that are thought provoking like that…

  19. I love how you guys get excited about racing remote control cars then talk to each other about it and forget about Oscar for a minute!

  20. Howdy from the US! Dont understand how yall dont have a million subscribers yet….

  21. Anyone who is trying to say Oscar has 'no personality' since the season started this year, needs to come find this episode and watch it. He is just a legend
