    the NHL is like the NFL. the more money an older player makes the less you get back in trade return. this makes perfect sense to me. fletcher overpaid for a lot of players. people need to understand this. fletcher would give up salary but take salary back which gives you no advantage. they now need to jettison couturier and Atkinson. what will they do with Ellis who will never play again?

    As a long time Flyers fan and season ticket holder for 25 years
    heres my .02c.
    The Flyers need…..SPEED….SPEED….SPEED.
    Make this team faster,no more dump and chase.
    I dont want to hear " mucking and grinding",dump it in the corners,dump and chase.
    No SKATE and make plays happen.
    Shoot the puck thats what scores goals and wins games.
    Danny Brieere was a damn fast skater,play maker and goal scorer.
    Bring guys on this team that do the same.
    Skating, team speed and scoring.
    I dont want to hear about mucking and hrinding anymore.

    Tyrone…you have no clue or idea about hockey or the Flyers, you couldn't help a person find their way out of a paper bag, much less explain the strategy of the Flyers.

    He had to go – age, bad contract, declining performance, bad fit in coach's scheme. A low draft pick is about all the value he was worth. But to retain half of that salary shows Danny's inexperience & desperation. Hope it doesn't carry over to the next set of trades. He may end up getting fleeced on Sanhiem to Toronto, DeAngelo to Carolina, TK to Detroit, Laughton to Colorado, or even Hart to Montreal.
