Kevin Hayes has been traded from the #PhiladelphiaFlyers to the #StLouisBlues in exchange for a sixth round pick. Hayes, who was an NHL All-Star this past season, will have 50% of his contract retained by the Flyers. Why did this deal make sense for each side? Frank Seravalli gave his thoughts on the move.

Cause its a horrible contract even at half, get bad contracts on average players off the books.
Danny B is cleaning up Chuck Fletchers mess. Hayes should have been traded last year just like JVR. This is Chuck Fletchers fault.
With half retained I thought there would be something more. Hayes was really good before Tortz benched him for not shaving his sideburns.
When’s the last time Flyers won a trade? Everyone misses "Keith the thief" days…He got scorers not over the hill vets, bad fighters and low level young players..
There is something more coming to this deal.
I believe Danny Will go with something big before the draft 🏒🤔
Gotta get the skunk contracts off the books immediately. Surprised they even got a 6th.
blues won this trade,philly snoozed.
Thank goodness, Frank finally figured out that Parayko and Faulk are not going anywhere.
They made room for a young player and got rid of half his cap hit.
As much as the Flyers want to shed high priced player salaries, you can't put out a roster of all 20 year olds and expect to win some games. Veteran players are a necessity.
That Hayes deal was disturbing from the very day it happened. Solid player but no more than a middle six C
