  1. Really want Simashev. English seems really good considering he’s a new speaker👌🏻

  2. He prototypes as a big top 4 defensive defenseman who can skate. That's exactly what the Canucks need. I don't care what country he's from. The days of teams picking players by country of origin and finding success are long over. There are plenty of tough, skilled players from Europe. I hate when people have to get racist about hockey. How a player plays the game is important and their attitude. What country they were born in is irrelevant. Sure, there's the KHL concern, but if he's available at 11 and he's the best player available, the Canucks shouldn't avoid him just because he's Russian. Obviously, you talk to the guy and see what his plans are, but if he's willing to come over sooner rather than later, you make the pick if he's there at 11. He has all the tools to be a top pairing defenseman.

  3. This kid's really growing on me. We haven't gotten to watch him internationally due to the Russian ban, but he always looks great in the highlights, and he seems to have a dynamite personality. He seems like he would be a solid pick for us at 11.

  4. if benson, michkov are gone, this has to be our pick. Kid has a lot of potential. We have to hit a home run, dont want 3rd or 4th liner

  5. his speech is not bad but I think more importantly he understands english at a fairly high level

  6. Trust me on this folks I'm waaaay ahead of this…Bali WILL be the next hockey goldmine for good young prospects ! Theres a young guy named Kadek Kompyang and he's gonna go Number 1 in next year's draft 😉😉

  7. It would be nice if the Canucks got a right handed D man. If they feel like they might be able to trade down, and still get a player like Simashev, I would be fine with that. The video they showed here, of his moves, he looked pretty good. Take the best player available. If the best players still available are pretty equal, take the big D man. The Canucks have desperately needed to improve their D for a decade. That being said, they took a highly rated D man in the first round a few years ago, and he turned out to be an absolute bust.

  8. I really think Donnie and Dhali have helped Dan Milstein become comfortable talking with the media here and making the Canucks a better place for landing his clients. I'm proud of these guys for doing their part in elevating this team in intangible ways.
