i think fantilli suits what they need more. team as currently built gets pushed around too much. soft as you alluded to. both C prospects are well rounded. carlsson has an edge with his decision making, understanding of offensive / defensive positioning. fantilli is mean, better shot, better skating/athlete, and high motor physical play.
They will pick Fantilli…. no questions asked.
if they group together Gibson , Henrique , & 2nd round pick/picks in a trade they'll get a better caliber (all star or future all star hopefully) player/players back instead of trading them all separately
i really think Lundestrom could end up a Backlund type guy with a bit less offense. 20g 20a and solid defensive play are what i see for him. I wouldn't mind seeing him get time in the top 6 next year though. I'd also like to see a shake up of our bottom 6. I don't think any particular guy did poorly but I just think it needs a change. Add lucic and call up Groulx.28:15 unfortunate to hear that Gaucher, nesterenko, and groulx will be dead :/
Fantilli hands down. It's destined. He joins Paul Kariya as one of 3 players to win Toby Baker award. He has also played with McTavish, Drysdale, and Zellweger for Team Canada. Some chemistry already.
Trade Comtois, Silfy, Jones (like his size, but he is a teddy bear, not an enforcer), Crarrick,
1000% keep Henrique and Lundestrom. Rico at # 3 center and Lunderstrom at 4 is fantastic. Or Gautch at 4, Lundestrom at 3rd line center, and Rico on the wing.

We could trade those ones I mentioned, get one or maybe two REALLY experienced and responsible players to surround our young guns and let them flourish and grow.
I’m also ok with Benoit getting moved and getting another big body. We need size, experience, and Fantilli. I truly believe our rebuild is over…we just need a slight re-tool to get the last pieces.
