  1. Read somewhere that it’s 3.1 AAV.

    Reasonable.

Walks him to UFA but doesn’t extend him too long so that if it doesn’t work out he becomes an anchor. Regardless if he’s a top 6 forward and good on special teams $3.1 is a good deal every day of the week.

I don’t like this part of the move. I think Sharangovich and Toff are comparable players at different points in their careers, but why not go for the 3rd year or 4th year at least? The whole reason I liked the move was for short and long term gain, long term just went out the window.

Term is awful. He’ll be gone in 2 years.

So we gave a raise to a guy coming from a down year, healthy scratch and -3 on the 3rd highest scoring team just to walk him to UFA. This does not make the Flames better today, tmrw or ever. Shows the Flames are still clueless

So people are mad that Huberdeau and Kadri are signed for way too long and now people are mad that we signed this guy to a reasonable, short term “show me” contract? This fanbase is becoming pretty insufferable.

I feel like he can do some work on our second line, or maybe provide a target for Hubs.

I like that he wants to be here.

    Seems he is super pumped.

It’s fine. Best case scenario, he outplays the contract and gets another, maybe with a raise. Worst case, the fit isn’t there, and he walks in UFA/trade at the deadline the season before it’s up

This is good. Show us what you can do and see if you want to play here, then in two years you can get a raise here or go somewhere else. Makes sense to me.

Prove it contract and everyone is upset about it?
