People wanted Dubas out so somebody would make changes to the roster. Now Dubas is out and all indications are that we’re running it back all the way down to guys like Kampf and Kerfoot – when reports were that Dubas was ACTUALLY willing to make changes to the roster.
Kind of ironic.

This is why you don’t bring back the same President and Coach. Tre is counting on their perspective when making these moves. Hayes was right, Shanahan is happy with our regular season results and just hopes it will translate in the playoffs eventually.

We are really going to run everything back, minus Dubas, Holl, and potentially Nylander. It makes me think that Dubas was ready to make moves this offseason that MLSE wouldn’t have let him make.
To clarify: I actually like Kerfoot as a utility player, and wouldn’t mind re-signing him for a lower AAV than 3.5, but I really didn’t think we’d just be running with the same team for the 4th year in a row.
Treliving has no backbone if he does this. He is just keeping Dubas’s team together, but giving out more money.
Can we re-sign Ryan O’Reilly for what he wants? Fuck no.
Can we re-sign Kampf and Kerfoot for a total that would be slightly less than what O’Reilly probably wants? Sure lol

So many people were afraid it was Dubas committed to Keefe and the core. Whoops. Pretty obvious now that the MLSE board was pulling the strings via Shanahan all along. Dubas decided not to be a puppet anymore, MLSE ordered Shanahan to dump him. And here we are. Running it back with Keefe and minimal changes on the ice.
