No. Especially with their salary cap problems. Last thing the Maple Leafs need is another player at $8 million per yr. You would think they would have learned that lesson by now.

Not because I think he’d be great there, but because of how bad that would make their already terrible contract situation even worse.
Seattle really feels like the team that should get him. They’re young, have talented players, and need that extra bit of star power to truly get over the edge.

No. From a practical standpoint it's not something they should consider. Forget the fact it's not likely feasible from an asset standpoint as far as the type of compensation San Jose would be looking for based on where they're expected to be in their process as a team. Lastly there's the monitory aspect.

Stay away from Karlsson… He peaked on a terrible team that had nothing much around him, the last 4 years aside from last year he hasn't even cracked 50 points and i know he missed a ton of time but even if he was healthy he probably would have been at best a 75-80 point defenceman. He's getting older and he's not a very good in his own end and if you already have Rielly there is no need for Karlsson. It might honestly make them worse but they will be able to score more as well. If i'm the leafs and they want him the Sharks have to retain 50% if one of the core four or Rielly isn't going back but then losing Rielly for Karlsson isn't going to do that much for the team.
The only way I could fathom it is if he’s retained by at least 3 million and Reilly and or Brodie is being moved.

Respect Craig’s take on Toffoli, but he won’t need speed to be successful on New Jersey. They have so many talented players to drive possession, all his line mates have to do is find him the puck and he’ll bury it, which he’s done his entire career. He’ll do great in NJ

Jets got great return for pld, I don't think the Calgary trade was all that great for the Flames though, but there is no chance the Leafs are getting Karlsson unless it's a 3 team trade to get that cap hit down.

Do not trade or sign Erik Karlsson, unless it is for a front office job. He is too old, defensively soft, very prone to injury and does not fit the plan the TML need for success on the ice. If he is used as a pawn to facilitate a trade and he lands somewhere else then that is fine.
