Do we draft with all three back2back2back picks yes or no?

Lol if there’s one consistent theme of first round drafts I’ve noticed over the last couple years, it’s Habs fans being disappointed with their first pick

I dont mind a certain type of player down the middle, and then fill it out with high scoring wingers is pretty ideal. Seems to be a trend that Drapes goes for those wingers in the second round

We better be leading the conversation as the best defensive team in the league in 4-5 years. If we aren’t, this rebuild likely was a failure.

    Edit: fixed poor wording

People be out here sleeping on Axel…… okay it’s me, I fell asleep on the couch around pick 13 and missed the rest of the draft….

Nate Danielson’s most lauded skill according to almost all profiles I’ve read is his ability to advance the puck with possession.

Elite prospects goes as far as saying that navigating the neutral zone with possession is his “signature move”.

That, more than anything else, is what our forward corp lacks right now. Reliably getting possession into the offensive zone.

If that’s the determining factor behind the Danielson pick then I’m very happy with that.

The most interesting thing going forward is what they do with his development from here. Do they leave him in Brandon and hope that he gets some actual winger support this year or do they try to get him somewhere else where he can hopefully leverage his skills into production. I think watching him in camp this summer will be very interesting.

The first time I saw Seider play after we picked him was in the first scrimmage at prospect camp and he immediately started connecting spinorama passes and dangling the shit out of people. The myth of the limited offensive upside was broken almost instantly.

So, we’ll see how Nate looks this summer.

So after yesterday, here would be my top 10 prospects for the Wings at the moment:

    Edvinsson

    Kasper

    Danielson

    Cossa

    Mazur

    Sandin Pelikka

    Buchnelikov

    Lombardi

    Johansson

    Wallinder

I like the ASP pick but for as much as teams value centers/D, our wing pool is going to get thin pretty soon. Was hoping they took Musty at 17. After Perron and Kubliak are gone you’re going to have Raymond, Berggren and ???. We’ll need to hope that two of Mazur, Buchelnikov, and Lombardi (or maybe even Dylan James) hit. I suppose it’s easy to slide a center out to wing, but neither Kasper or Danielson seems like play drivers. They are both steady reliable types. Still trust Stevie as he knows a hell of a lot more than me. Will be fun to see who we take today. This is where GM’s make their real money.

Noticed through the post interviews with Stevie and Drapes, they really wanted a Right shot Center. After Bedard n Smith, Danielson was the next one to go so they must have felt he’s better than Yager and Richie as those were only 5 right shooting Cs in this round.
