I’m a European Hockey scout! AMA about David Reinbacher!
I wrote a report on Reinbacher WAY back in November and even then the talent was evident. https://www.recruitscouting.com/david-reinbacher-player-profile/
How good is he in front of the net? We know he has the body for it, but does he use it to clear ths guys in front?
Emperor_Billik
Do you think moving to a smaller ice size will change Reinbachers approach to board work?

Will he be able to stop Michkov from scoring on us?
lRuko
What do you think the kid is missing or need to improve to be the stud he will become?
maavoc
What player would you compare him to?
86DC
Does he have offensive upside in the NHL and just how big is that ceiling?
T-Muffin
I keep seeing people say that his floor is top 4 and his ceiling is a number 2 defenseman. Do you agree with this assessment? To me that means there’s no chance that he doesn’t become at least a second pair D nor is there any chance that he becomes a number 1 D. That seems like a very small range of outcomes to me but curious to get an expert’s perspective.

Do you believe he was worthy of a top five pick? Who would you have ranked above him? What is his offensive potential in the NHL?

Hi and thanks for doing this.
Which past or current NHL player do you see the most similarities with Reinbacher?
Livid-Canary-4389
What change in his play did you see thoughtout the season in term of his role and production? I’ve heard he took a big step in the second half of the season and got himself a role on the powerplay, is it a true assessment?
KirkHammettJigsaw
Would you have picked him at 5, or Michkov at 5?
Cautious-Bad662
Thank you for doing this, it really means alot for us. What should be our expectation on what he should/can improve in his game?
Clean-Elephant9363
Does he have the character to handle the disappointment by the fans who wanted Michkov?
SOXERX
Would you saw the Swiss league is the 4th best hockey league in the world after the NHL, AHL, KHL?
Bytrsweet
Do you think he can be effective on the power play? If yes, would you consider him to be the set-up man or is he more of a trigger man? Thanks for the AMA

Regarding his offensive side : after watching videos of him, I have the feeling he could be a good fit with Hutson. This pairing could be quite creative and cause a lot of chances on offense. I think this choice, in fact, will solidify our offense and should be seen as that and not as a strictly defensive choice. Attack is more than just forwards. Am I right to think like this ?

Hello and thank you for doing this. How would you compare Reinbacher to David Jiricek and Simon Nemec in terms of talent and potential to be an impact player in the NHL?
thecaste22
having played on a kloten team that was surprisingly good but still finished in the bottom half of the league table last year: how much do you attribute his excellent point production to being given more ice-time as a result of the team not being that good? and on the other hand how much do you think the lack of a good supporting cast compared to other teams in the league might have negatively impacted his performance?
Plevey2019
How do you find his skill with breakouts and moving the puck up to the forwards? I’ve wanted Reinbacher for a while now in terms of pure need for RD but have my doubts on his breakouts, foot speed and agility under pressure. Please enlighten me!
MachineGunMaurice
Given the level of forward talent remaining at #5, would you have taken him at that rank?
Huevas03
Everybody seems to want to be reassured that we made the right pick but I’m excited to see him play already. In your opinion, what’s his biggest weakness? What is Adam Nicholas going to work on with him?
Aabbppll
Does he have Norris potential like Norlinder?
infinis
Which of skillset is easier/harder to translate to NHL?
SignificantWarning5
Are you like Adam Sandler in the movie Hustle where he goes around the world to scout for basketball players? If yes, can you tell us more about what you do? How’s the job? Is it fun? Does it pay well?

Who, in your view, is the bigger first round gamble from an organizational standpoint? Juraj Slafkovsky or David Reinbacher?
NoSize2735
Would you have picked him at 5? If not who would you have picked instead?

> Overall, I think the Shea Theodore comparison could be a touch ambitious, but I do believe Reinbacher has the potential to be a top 2 pairing defenceman in the NHL like Shea Theodore.
Big yikes on such a deep draft…
Dry_Juggernaut_4084
Is he playing in a good team that could help his play or his he really just a good player?
Just watched this interview…he’s very much in keeping with the Canadien’s philosophy of drafting quality PEOPLE to go along with their hockey talent…watch this interview, like Slaf, you can’t help but like him.
I think this is a fantastic pick.

How would you compare him to Seider at the same age?
MasterMatt25
How many points do you think he’d reach in a full 82 game season?
Longtimelurker2575
Best guess, when do you think Reinbacher will be ready for the NHL?
